The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of Holme Valley Lions Club Charitable Incorporated Organisation (the Charty) for the 1>month period ending 31st Juty 2026. The Club was incorporated as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation on 25th October 2018. The Trustees confim that the Annual Report and financial statements of the Charity comply with the Current statutory requirements, the requirements of the Charity's governing document and th8 provisions ofthe Ststement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Chartties" issued in March 2015. This is the final annual report for the club as the members voted to close the club as at 301h June 2026. The period covered by this report is for th8 13 month penod ended 31 St July 2026 and accounts for a small number of transactions completed in July 26 which could not be completed prior to 30th June 2026. The Constitution stipulates that the minimum number of trustees shall be three and the maximum twelve. The President, Secretary and Treasurer are all mandatory trustees. Any member taking up those posts must be trustee The process for the appointment of trustees is stipulated In the Constitution. A'Trustees' meeting is held when required, and in any case every two months. This meeting manages the governance of the club as set out under the Charrtable Incorporated OrganBation Constitution. The Charity's insurance requirements are covered under Lions Clubs International Multiple District 105 insurance arrangem8nts. providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest- provided that partBan polrtics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by members., encouraging serVi-m1ded people to serve their communty without personal reward and encouraging the promotion of hoh ethical standards in commer, industry. professions, public and private endeavours.. supporting youth to develop their skills. capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.. promoting the Voluntary Sedor for the public benefrt by associating with local authorities In a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recrealion or other teisure time occupation to improve the condthons of lrfe of people in local. national and international communrties.. promoting volunteering., the relief of poverty and the lief of those in need in parb'cular by providing humanitarian aKI and disaster relief. the advancement of heah or the saving of lives by preventing avoidable blindness. assisting disabled people to lead independent lives or helping to prevent or manage h8alth issues" promoting for the benefit ofthe public the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.. andlor promoting communty pa.patton In healthy recreatson. The trustees confirm they have comklied with trE duty in section 4 of the Chantr'8s Act 2006 to have due regard to the Chanty Commission's general guidan on public b8n8fit 'Charitie8 and Public Benefiv. This y8ar the CIO have continued to provide public benefit, and we will explain how this has been achieved in this report. The club operates one bank account and operates fund accounting. All the administration expenses ofthe CIO are deatt wrth through the'Administration Fund, the balance ofwhich does not include any money raised from members of the public The trustees can confirm that the CIO does not have any outstanding liabilrties or debts. The CIO has a grant making policy, all applications are consKlered by the trustees al their meetings. The trustees then make recommendations which are considered by all the members of the CIO. The procedure for thts process is outlined within the constitution. In this period the club has had total grcss income of £19364.69 Dunng the full year. the major d)arty income has come from the Santa Sleigh {£2534), the monthly draw {£770). an annual raffle (£3215). and grants (£8700), Admin income incSuded Gift Aid {£937). The club donated £1796 to Lions Clubs 1ntemats.onal Charities during the FaKXI.
The club have made further charitabbe donab'ons of £17865 in the period including £3000 to Kirkwood Hospice, £1(0 £71kn a ktsl SlKthcfa1, tots maiamtytsaty ¥K1£1(M))b Bary LlknttYK&I Inna arKI a futs£2625 to various other k)cal organisations and events These donab'ons made a difference within our local community and internationally. All Administrats've obligations were mel by the club before closure and all remaining funds in the club were donated to local and WKler organisations. Al Membership of the CIO at the end of June 2026 was 10 members. Members met once per month and took part in the social and fundraising actsvities of the cio. During the year the club continued to work with others in their local community, not only to support their communty but to encourage them to become members of Holme Valley Lions Club.
