The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of
Holme Valley Lions Club Charitable Incorporated Organisation (the Charity) for the
12-month period ending 30 June 2021. The Club was incorporated as a Charitable
Incorporated Organisation on 25th October 2018. The Trustees confirm that the
Annual Report and financial ststements of the Charity comply with the current
statutory requirements, the requirements of the Charity's goveming document and
the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practi￿ (SORP) "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities. issued in March 2015.
Structure Governance and Mana
ement
The Constitution stipulates that the minimum number of trustees shall be three and
the maximum twelve. The President, Secretary and Treasurer are all mandatory
trustees. Any member tsking up those posts must be trustee. The process for the
appointsnent of trustees is stipulated in the Constrtution. A 'Trustees' meeting is held
when required, and in any case every fvrfo months. This meeting manages the
governan￿ of the club as set out under the Charitable Incorporated Organisation
Constitution.
The Charity's insurance requirements are covered under Lions Clubs International
Multiple District 105 Insuran￿ arrangements.
Lions internal rules set out that the club should maintain separate records for the
Charitable and Administration accounts of Ihe club although they can be maintained
within the same bank account.
Mission Ststsmènt
To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs,
encourage pea￿ and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Objects
The Objects of the CIO are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England &
Wales, including in particular:
the advan￿ment of cttizenship by:
promoting the principles of good citizenship.

encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social
and moral welfare of the comrnunity;
providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest.
provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by
members.
encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal
reward and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce,
industry, professions, public works and private endeavours;
supporting youth to develop their skills. capactties and capabilities to enable
them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals;
promoting the Voluntary Sector for the public benefit by associating with local
authorities in a common effort to advan￿ education and provide facilities in
the interests of social W￿lfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation to
improve the condttions of lrfe of people in local. national and international
communities"

The trustees confim they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities
Act 2006 to have due regard to the Charty Commission's general guidan￿ on public
benefit 'Chariti'es and Public Benefrt.. This year the CIO have continued to provide
public benefrt, and we will explain how this has been achieved in this report.
All the administration expenses of the CIO are dealt with through the 'Administration
Account. the balan￿ of which dces not include any money raised from members of
the public. The trustees can confimi that the CIO does not have any outstanding
liabilities or debts.
The CIO has a grant making policy, all applications are considered by the trustees at
their meetings. The trust&s then make recommendations which are considered by
all the members of the CIO. The procedure for this prO￿sS is outlined within the
constitution.

Donations
In this 12-month period the club has had income of £6,311.89.
During the full year, the major income has come from the Santa Sleigh (£1,617), and
the monthly draw (£651), an internet raffie (£378). and a Grft Aid claim from HMRC
(£2,293.62).
The club donated £1,055 to Lions Clubs Intemational Charities during the full year.
The club have made donations of £4,345 in the full year including £315 to Kirkwood
Hospi￿, £400.00 to Holme Valley Foodbanks. £250 to Holme Valley Youth Choir,
and £320 to Holmepride (who are dedicated to making improvements around the
villages in Holme Valley). These donations are making a differen￿ within our local
community.
Membershi
Membership of the CIO at the end of June 2021 was 14 active members. Members
meet once per month and take part in the social and fundraising activities of the CIO.
During in the year the club continued to work with others in their local communty, not
only to support their communty but to encourage them to become members of
Holme Valley Lions Club.
The club have an active Fa￿bOOk page and a website page, both promoting our
activities.
