THE BEGINNING
Sakubva Helper UK Charity was the brainchild of retired Educationists from Chelmsford and London back in
August 2014 over a Reunion lunch. This was in response to a request from Rebuild Sakubva Trust, an initiative conceived and implemented by the residents of Sakubva Township in the City of Mutare in Zimbabwe. In spite of the economic challenges facing the nation of Zimbabwe, the desire to educate and prepare its children for the future has never diminished. We wanted to HELP them HELP themselves.
THE ACTIVITIES
Since it’s inception the Charity has been sending Educational Resources and Recreational Resources to Zimbabwe. On average a Container was sent every two years.
Back in 2017 we visited Sakubva Township to see for ourselves what was happening with the equipment and resources we were sending. It was indeed a very fruitful visit. We ended up giving some Basketball Coaching.
During the Covid19 Pandemic the Charity also sent PPE Equipment and other medical equipment to assist the local hospitals in Mutare Zimbabwe.
In 2024 Educational Resources, Music Equipment and Hospital Equipment were sent to Zimbabwe. This Equipment was desperately needed by Hospitals in Sakubva Township Mutare, Schools in Sakubva and up and coming Musicians in the area.
Thanks to our Zimbabwe representative Mr Peter Muparutsa all the distribution was carried out successfully.

The Charity continues with the payment of School Fees for the disadvantaged children at Diligence Academy. This programme has been popular with the Sponsors, Children, Parents, and Teachers at the Academy.
