The purpose of the Bury Faith Forum is the
promotion of religious harmony for the
benefft of the public through: educating the
public in different religious beliets including
to promote good relations between persons
of different faiths,. promoting knowledge,
mutual understanding and respecl of the
beliets and practices of different religious
faiths,. providing a range of interfaith
activities for people in Bury to enable them
to interact with people of different religious
fatths and better understand their
communities- and providing technical advice
to
ovemment and others on faith matters.
Bury Faith Forum have continued to
maintain Forum meetings and activities
during the Covid pandemic. Despite being
unable to deliver in person activities and
events as in previous years, the Forum has
been a key partner in cascading guidance
and me&saging an)und vaccination clinics
and humanitarian support during the
Pandemic. The Forum has facililated
mobilisation of support during the Ukraine
crisis and has coordinated donation points
of essential items for both transport to
Ukraine and to support Ukrainian arrivals in
Bury. The Forum have also been involved in
Race Conversations, a series of inclusive
listening events across communities of
place. identity and experien￿. The Forum
were a key partner in the delivery of the
Holocaust Memorial Event which was held
online. During the periods when in person
activity has been possible. the Forum has
continued to connect with local primary and
secondary schools where pupils are given
the opportunity to ask questions to Faith
Ambassadors about theirfaith and belief
traditions.

The Forum has seen many achievements
during this period. These include: Improved
relationships with public and VCSE sector
partners through the Forums, role as a
conduit to local communities" increased
awarenes5 of Forum members, offers.,
increased coordination of offers as seen
during the Ukraine response; better
connectivity wlth other networks Includlng
the Community Coheslon group (a sub
group ofthe Community Safety
Partnership). increased collaboration with
health pariners including Fairfield Hospital
where the Forum were invited to take part In
engagement around plans for a new multi-
faith space. The Forum has continued its.
core role in increasing awareness of
different religious beliefs and the promotion
of good relations between people of different
faiths.
