Ip.i4 3￿￿ from a group of volunteers who assisted the Chaplatn at HMP Risley in delivering the Apha
course for the previous six years. The objects otthe charty are:
As a Christian organisalion. to assist those of any or no faith at risk of becoming involved in or
already within the Crimind Justice System to a full and permanent reh8bilttatton by me8ns of
fatlh-based education and training, together with the support of and mentoring within local
fatth-based communtties.
To ensure best practice. parbcularly regarding safeguarding issues. in supporting thosè
retuming from the crimin￿ Justice System by M￿MiS1ng the proper use of available
Durlng the past year the Board has held four meetFngs at St James Churth, Westhead.
Petsr Wren. from St John's Church, Burscough attended the play ff￿1$0n walls couldspeak,
promoted by 57:fourt8en. He has attended l)oard meetings since April 2024 and has agreed to
become a Trustee.
Contscts with prix)ns and churches have progressed and new opportunitses continue to be
explored WTÈh churches throughout the Diocese of Liverpool. Meetings have been held with the
prison thaPl￿n of HMP Liverpool and rt is hoped to establish our presence there.
Joe Cottrell from the Nahvort ofh7ndnessattended one meoting. This organisation hglps
churches engage in social action. including debt advi￿. food pantiies. etc. ￿ is part of Together
Liverpool and works with ex-offenders. It is hoped that our (Thimon objectives may develop.
The proposed partnership with Juncllon 42, a slmilar char￿/ based in Newcastle, continues to
dwelop, Trhthere our church links can dovthl with their prison links.
Our Policres and Procedures are conlinually updated, and li￿son with Liverpool Diocesè's
Safeguarding Officer continues.
Flegarding the VIO Street restrtcted fund. in the grant 8pplicatlon and coverlng letter, the fvndlng
was required for: °Deliv8r courses in Prison - MentorlPastorally Care in line with other relevant
organisations in the Communty. To ensure best practice. particularty with regard to safeguarding
issues, in supporting those retuming from the Criminal Justice System by maximising the proper
use of available resources to local faith-based communibes.. The response noted: °This grant
(the Grant) is made in support of the projecl as ouuined in detsil in your grant appllcation to th8
