## **Trustees Report for the Friends of Great Denham (FOGD)** 

## **Reporting period 2024/25** 

## **1. Mission Statement** 

The friends of Great Denham is dedicated to supporting Great Denham Primary School by fostering a collaborative partnership among parents, teachers and the local community.  Our aim is to create a memorable school experience for the children and enhance the overall learning environment.  We value the contributions of all members of our school community. 

## **2. Key Activities and Events Organised** 

Throughout the year, the Friends of Great Denham organised a variety of events for the children of Great Denham Primary School, including: 

- Two Discos 

- Six Tuck shops 

- Little Santa shop 

- Two ‘Make the Rules’ Day 

- Pancake day races 

- A Christmas Hamper raffle 

- Refreshments for Christmas performances 

- Custom Christmas cards and gifts featuring pupils’ designs 

- Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts 

- A tube coin challenge 

Furthermore we provided affordable second-hand uniforms and ran a school lottery through the year. 

## **3. Significant Achievements and Contributions** 

During the 2024/25 period, the Friends of Great Denham contributed a total of £17,500 to Great Denham Primary School.  The funds were allocated towards the following items: 

- 2x fixed gazebos 

- 5x picnic tables 

- money towards a coach for a school trip (Hilltop), 

- restocking the reward shop twice 

- trimmers 

- life-skill teddies 

- books 

- money towards outdoor courtyard set up 

- 5x pop-up gazebos 

- religious artifacts (for RE lessons) 

- rug 

- boards for displays 



- sensory play equipment 

- 3x visualisers 

- body warmers for kitchen staff 

## **4. Membership** 

Our Membership has steadily increased over the years, and we currently have around 40 members.  On average, about 8 parents actively assist at events.  The FOGD committee consists of 8 members, with the following updates. 

- Jodie Gibson, the chair for 2024/25, has stepped down but remains an active member. 

- Co-chairs Karen Reynolds and Suzy Swann have taken over the leadership role. 

- The Vice Chair position is now held by a previous Volunteer Committee Member. 

- The roles of Secretary and Treasurer remain unchanged. 

- The Grant Application Administrator roles has been filled by an existing FOGD member. 

## **5. Future Plans for the coming year** 

For the 2025/26 year, our profit goal is set at 20,000, which will be used to fund donations for the 2026/27 period, with details to be discussed at the 2026 AGM.  To achieve this target, we are planning various events. 

The members of FOGD are excited about the fundraising challenges ahead, knowing that the rewards will bring joy to parents, staff, and most importantly, the children.  The benefits of our fundraising efforts will directly enhance the school experience for all.
