Bolton FM Media Academy is a subsidiary of the community radio station 96.4 Bolton FM CIC. It was set up to teach young people the various skills needed when setting up their trial radio station,similar to Young Enterprise. We were to go into schools and help the students with the skills needed eg., Technology, literacy, communication skills, team work, maths numeracy and many more.
Regrettably since Covid there has been no funding available for us to deliver this program. We have also had a major problem with our only paid member of staff, D K Harris, at the station passing away unexpectedly and this has caused substantial disruption..
I am pleased to say the radio station is now back on track and we have plans to start the Media Academy again as soon as is possible.
