## **THE FATHER'S HOME REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR 1ST APRIL 2025 TO 31ST MARCH 2026**
## **1. Introduction**
The Trustees of The Father’s Home present this annual report for the period 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. This has been a season marked by transition, resilience, prayerful discernment, and ultimately, a faithful and honourable conclusion to the ministry of The Father’s Home in Wolverhampton.
Throughout this period, the church has remained under the spiritual oversight of Skylark Church, whose support has been invaluable.
## **2. Leadership and Pastoral Oversight**
At the beginning of this reporting period, Pastor Ingrid Nuara and her family experienced a significant bereavement. During this time, Queensley Ojo stepped in to ensure the church remained functional and cared for with the support of the church leadership team.
Her responsibilities included:
- Maintaining communication and pastoral continuity
- Supporting the congregation through a sensitive and uncertain season
Sunday services continued at The Beefeater’s, though Kids Church was temporarily paused due to the lack of a suitable room for children’s ministry.
## **3. Leadership Transition**
## **3.1 Discernment and Appointment of New Pastor**
After a period of prayerful reflection and consultation, it was agreed that the mantle of leadership should be passed to Queensley Ojo. This decision was:
- Supported by outgoing pastors Ingrid and Vince
- Facilitated by Amy Summerfield, Head of Development at Skylark Church
- Welcomed by the congregation, who expressed confidence in the appointment
## **3.2 Commissioning and Release Service**
On 6 July 2025, a combined Commissioning Service for Pastor Queensley and Blessing & Release Service for Ingrid and Vince Nuara was held.
The service was led by:
- Amy Summerfield, Skylark Church
- Pete Sims, Senior Leader, Skylark Church
This was a significant moment of honour, unity, and blessing for all involved.
## **4. Governance and Trustee Developments**
## **4.1 New Trustee Appointments (August 2025)**
Two new trustees were appointed to strengthen governance:
- Wayne Bishop – Skylark representative, bringing extensive experience in church leadership and finance
- Serena Chumber – A devoted Christian and member of The Father’s Home, offering valuable insight from her NHS background
## **4.2 Pastoral Role Remuneration (October 2025)**
In October 2025, the Trustees met to review the pastoral workload and sustainability of leadership. It was agreed that:
- The pastoral role should become a paid position
- A fixed monthly wage of £500 would be allocated
- A Nest Pension scheme would be established and contributions made accordingly
This decision reflected the Trustees’ commitment to fair remuneration, compliance with employment standards, and support for pastoral wellbeing.
## **4.3 Trustee Resignation (December 2025)**
In August 2025, Adam Boneham was released from the board of trustees. The trustees are grateful for his years of dedicated service and contribution to The Father’s Home.
December 2025, Rosie Egerton stepped down from the Board of Trustees. The Trustees expressed their gratitude for her service, dedication, and contribution to the life of The Father’s Home.
## **5. Relocation and Ministry Activities**
## **5.1 Move to YMCA Wolverhampton**
In October 2025, The Father’s Home relocated to the YMCA building in Wolverhampton. This move provided:
- A stable and welcoming worship environment
- A dedicated room for Kids Church, enabling children’s ministry to resume
- Improved accessibility for families and visitors
## **5.2 Community Events and Fellowship**
Food and fellowship have always been central to the heart of The Father’s Home. During this period, the church hosted:
- Agape Sunday gatherings
- A Christmas Dinner celebration
These events welcomed friends, families, and the wider community, offering hospitality, conversation, and connection.
## **6. Challenges and Discernment for the Future**
## **6.1 Pastor Queensley’s Intention to Step Down**
In February 2026, Pastor Queensley informed the Trustees and Skylark Church of her intention to step down from leading the church. This was a prayerful and difficult decision, made with deep consideration for the wellbeing of the congregation.
The Trustees commended her leadership, dedication and committed service to The Father’s Home Church.
## **6.2 Consultation and Decision to Close the Church**
Following this announcement, a series of meetings were held involving:
- The Trustees
- Skylark representatives
- Assistant Pastors Alessandro and Bruna
During these discussions, Assistant Pastors Alessandro and Bruna expressed a desire to continue the leadership of the church. The Trustees advised that a consultation with the congregation should take place.
After speaking individually with members of the congregation, Alessandro and Bruna discerned that the general feeling was that the church should close. They therefore withdrew their intentions to lead. It was unanimously agreed by the trustees that The Father’s Home should close.
## **7. Closing Service and Celebration of Ministry**
## **7.1 Final Service – 29 March 2026**
The Father’s Home held its closing service on 29 March 2026. The service was led by Pastor Queensley and included:
- Encouragements shared by members of the congregation
- Communion
- A shared meal
- A time of reflection, gratitude, blessing and release
The service was well attended and marked by both thanksgiving and emotion. As Trustees, we are grateful that the church was able to finish well, honouring Christ and one another. Our goal was to love as Christ loves us—even in endings—and this was achieved by God’s grace.
## **8. Dissolution of the Charity**
## **8.1 Consultation on Asset Distribution**
Following the decision to close, the Trustees discussed the dissolution of the charity. It was agreed that:
- The congregation should be invited to contribute suggestions regarding the distribution of assets
- Their views would be captured and considered, though the final decision rests with the Trustees
Queensley facilitated this discussion with the congregation on 21st March 2026. All suggestions were recorded and will be reviewed at the Trustees’ meeting in April 2026.
## **8.2 Next Steps**
The Trustees are now working on:
- Completing the formal dissolution process
- Ensuring compliance with Charity Commission guidelines
- Distributing assets responsibly and transparently
## **9. Conclusion**
This reporting period has been one of significant transition, heartfelt service, and faithful discernment. The Father’s Home has journeyed through leadership changes, relocation, community outreach, and ultimately, a prayerful and honourable closure.
The Trustees extend their deepest gratitude to:
- Pastor Ingrid and Vince Nuara for their foundational leadership
- Pastor Queensley Ojo for her steadfast service during a challenging season
- Skylark Church for their spiritual and organisational support
- Assistant Pastors Alessandro and Bruna for their willingness and humility
- The congregation for their unity, love, and resilience
Though The Father’s Home has come to an end, the seeds sown through its ministry will continue to bear fruit in the lives of those it has touched.

## **1. BASIS OF ACCOUNTING**
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdon and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
Voluntary income is received by way of donations and gifts. It is shown in full in the Statement of Financial Activities, when received.
Grants, including grants for the purchase of fixed assets, are recognised in full in the Statement of Financial Activities in the year in which they are received.
Restricted funds are to be used for specified purposes as required by the donor. Expenditure which meets these criteria is allocated to the relevant fund. Income derived from these funds is retained within the funds concerned.

## **4. PAYMENTS TO TRUSTEES**
Q Ojo, a Trustee, received a salary from employment with the charity in the sum of £2,475.
No other trustees have been paid remuneration or have received other benefits from employment with the charity.
The following expenses were paid to trustees for reimbursement of expenses - Q Ojo £589, B Egerton £135 (2025 £Nil)
There were no related party transactions.
