On Easter Sunday we welcorned 8ishop James to St Aldan's, and we were blessed as twelve people from our church famlly were confimed. many of these twelve people are new to faith in Jesus. and It was real joy to see them comin8 to a deeper place in their relatlonship with Him. On Pentecost Sunday we held our first Annual Church Meetn8 and elected a new 'ShadO￿ PCC to replace our out8oin8 Leadershlp Team. The Leadershlp Team had played an integral role in shapln8 the lrfe of 5t Aidath's since we started meetin8 In 2018 and it was a to celebrate the contrll)ution that they have made to the lrfe of the Church here over that tirne. The Advent and Chrlstrna5 period was typically busy With lots of different events for the local communlty to get Involved with. We onte a8ain held our Carols in the Café event, which Included our bl8 Chrlstma5 Tree li8ht swltch on - where seven local or8anisations had all got involved to help decorate Christmas trees. whlch were displayed for the whole of the Advent period. The Sea Salt Café has gone from 5tren8th-tO-StrenBth during the year and continues to welcome in Increasing numbers of customer5 on a weekty basis. Our work wlth young people in the communlty remalns a real source of en8a8ement and joy. In addition to ihe groups that we run every week at St Aidan's, we also exdted to have begun workin8 more dosely wlth a local youth tharlty, ConnectSn8 Youth CIC. Plymouth Partnership In Mlsslon NOTES TO THE FINANaAL STATEMENTS Accounting policies Basis of preparation The financial statements have been prepared under the Charities Act 2011 and in accordance with Church Accounting Regulations 2006 together with the Charities Statement of Recommended PraCt￿e (Charities SORP IFRS 10211 and Financial Reporting Standard 102 IFRS 1021. The financial statements have been prepared under the historic cost convention. The CIO meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. The financol statements are prepared in sterlin& which is the functional currency of the CIO. Going wncern The financial statement5 have been prepared on the going concern basis. There are no material uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant doubts uwn the CIO'S ability to continue as a going concern. Funds General funds represent the funds of the CIO that are not subject to any restrirtions regarding their use and are available for application on the general purposes of the CIO. Funds designated for a particular purpose by the CIO are also not restrirted. Restricted funds are income funds that must be spent on restricted purposes and details of the funds held and restrictions provided are Shown in the r￿te$ to the accounts. The financial statements include all transactions, assets and liabilities for which the CIO is responsible in law. They do not include the account5 Of ihe church groups that owe their main affiliation to another body nor those that are informal gatherings of church members.
