The skills and experience required by the Trustee Board is regularly reviewed and, where gaps are identified, new trustees with the requisite skills and knowledge are actively sought. All new trustee5 receive a personalised induction, which includes meetings with existlng trustees. They receive copies of key documents and updates on thelr roles and responsibilitles as required. The trustees have delegated the majority of the day-to-day running of the charlty to Lily Nwamaraihe. Actlvltles and oblertlves In the year The objectives of the charity are the advancement and relief of poverty for girls and local communities living in rural Africa via education, in particular but not exclusively bv: building schools in rural Africa, implementing functional literacy programmes in local communities, teaching girls a trade in schools in order to support self-reliance, educating girls in sexual health and family planning,. and providing continuous professional development training for all teaching staff by creating partnerships with teachers and schools in the UK and Africa. The objectives for the year were to continue the work of the charity by donations to a sister charitable organisation in Nigeria through which locally based employee5 could be recruited. Achievements and performance Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the tharity was unable to operate either in Nigeria or the UK during the year covered by this report. Publlc beneflt In setting our activitie5 and objectives the year we have regard to both the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit and prevention and relief of poverty for the public benefit. The trustees always ensure that the programmes we undertake are in line with our charitable objects and aims. Flnanclal revlew As ol I" lune 2021, the charity held unrestricted reserves of £55 as cash. The charity does not hold any funds as a custodian trustee.
