Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main** Having been set up by the smallest organising team in the history of the **achievements of the charity** festival it was a major achievement to be able to go ahead at all. **during the year** However, with a splendid weekend kicking off proceedings with a reenactment by Legio Secunda Augusta ably supported by Gladiators and various demonstrators explaining life in Roman Times it can generally be agreed that the festival was a success. A number of activities were sold out, the most popular perhaps being the ghost walks in Huntingdon and St Ives and as a result four new volunteers were recruited to help organise the 2024 festival. It should be acknowledged that without the support of the Huntingdon Freemen’s Trust and the donation of £1,000 they provided the Festival would not have gone ahead. Thanks should also be given to the following for their support: Oliver James Ltd J P Morgan Rotary Club of Huntingdon

## **Section E                    Financial review**

March **2012**

**TAR**

5

## **Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves**

Ideally the charity aims to carry a reserve of £2,000 to £3,000 at the end of each year which is sufficient to pay insurance and the initial outlay for the following year whilst grant applications are made. Unfortunately owing largely to the economic down turn in the past twelve months this was not possible to achieve as grants and donations were cut quite heavily. However, looking forward to the next year things are looking much better on the finance front

## **Details of any funds materially in deficit**

## **Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

At the end of the financial year we had £926 in the bank.

All money is held in a non-interest bearing account as the amount of funds after the festival are insufficient to warrant transferring to an interest bearing account. All online transactions must be authorised by two trustees

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

## **Section F Other optional information**
