Para 1.20 | The primary driver of volunteer activity in the charity was to understand and protect, conserve and enhance local communities’ valued countryside in the Arun area, particularly in the context of the threat to it from National Highways’ A27 Arundel Bypass proposals. Volunteers and trustees are coming to the view following its cancellation that the objectives of the charity in this respect have been sufficiently achieved. |

| Other | Volunteers have shifted their commitment to other local environmental initiatives concentrating more on residential areas and their immediate surrounds such as Greening Arundel. Arun Countryside Trust trustees agreed in January 2025 to transfer remaining funds to a Sussex Wildlife Trust account for similar purposes, close the bank account and seek closure of the CIO. |
