hosted a community volunteer helpout day
celebrating the Coronation, with work
including stream clearance, litter pick and
tree planting on the day’s activity list. The
charity was generally inactive in terms of
fundraising and expenditure during this
period. The Trustees have been relieved, at
least for the present, of the main strategic
threat to our area of benefit, the Arundel
Bypass proposals which would have meant
ecological severance of our main area of
focus. The Bypass proposals were deferred
by the previous government in 2023 and
then cancelled by the new government on 29
July 2024. Volunteers and trustees had
continued through this period to consider the
ecological and community impacts of the
proposals. Further costly ecological survey
work, which has been the charity’s main
expenditure in the past, was not required in
this period.|
