					To promote	the conservation,		protection and
					improvement	ofthe physical		and natural
					environment	and promote biological diversity
					in the parishes of Walberton			and Arundel and

					The charity's	main activity is	through its MAVES
					committee	(Mid Arun Valley		Environmental
					Survey}. MAVES commissions			and carries out:
					ecological research; practical			projects for
					conservation	enhancement	and enjoyment of
					the natural	environment; educational talks and
					walks and community engagement projects.

Summary ofthe main achievements ofthe charity during the year			The charity has not been active in terms of either fundraising or expenditure during this period in which the Trustees have considered
			strategic threats to our area ofbenefit, notably the Arundel
			Bypass proposals which would mean ecological severance ofour usual main area ofactivity. The Bypass proposals are now due to come to Development Consent Order application
			in spring/summer 2023, and the outcome ofthis process,
			one way orthe other, will significantly impact the
			charity's future work.
