The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023. The trustees who served during the year and up to the date of this report are set out on page 2. Strurturei governance and management The objective of the Charity is to re-home dogs. The Charity is governed by its Constitution dated 16th February 2017. Meetings We've had our annual meeting with all trustees where we discussed the years performance and how we will move forward for 2024. We've all agreed that we will stay a small rescue to try and help more dogs in need and fundraise when needed. Due to the lack of volunteers and time we need to keep things to a minimum. Dogs being cared for by fosterers and 6 kennels at head office. We also was left a lump sum of money which we put towards new kennels as our old kennels where wood and rotting. Achievements and performance Dogs taken in for re-homing from their own home, racing industry and from The Haven Rescue in Ireland: 61 During the year 2023 the Charity re-homed 45 Dogs. Dogs in permanent 'forever foster: 2 Dogs staying in Rescue forever: I Animals reunited with local owners (via Microchip): 9 Fundraising Some frequent fundraising done with our Charity auction sales page on Facebook, and regular donations from online dog shows and raffles. Also set up a gofundme page for funds to help a puppy we took in with a deformed foot who needs speciality orthopedic vetenary treatment which was ongoing through the year. We raised the amount needed but then found the specialist vets couldnt do that operation and will charge another £8000 for a more complex operation which is on hold until the new owners and ourselves can raise this money. A savings account was then set up to keep the money separate from the main bank account. Donations (financial and other) Received kind donations from the general public. Several from companies i.e. Animal
Friends, Sl Alloys Chester, Beer Heros Chester. Donations non financial: We received some very generous donations of food and equipment from our Amazon wishlist, Butchers sent another pallet of dog food, dog food donations from the public and some other equipment like leads, beds and coats to use for our dogs. We also was left a Legacy from a lovely Lady who sadly passed away. This went through Cyril Jones & Co. A total of £9577.65 Volunteers We are still trying to recruit some volunteers, especially for fostering and for fundraising as its becoming busy and overwhelming forjust one person to do everything running a rescue. We have a couple of lovely fosterers who regularly help with fundraising via Facebook and keep our website up to date. We still receive applications from potential volunteers but unfortunatly they are always under 18 and our insurance doesn't cover them. Vets The rescue is still registered with The Anlmal Trust Vets, 31 Caia Road, Wrexham, LL13 8DS, 01978 802658. Rescue Insurance The rescue is insured with LMRS Insurance. Social Media The Rescue has 4 Facebook pages, 12,828 likes and 14,100 followers on our main public page, 1200 on our charity sale page, 205 members on our community page where all adopters join and 148 members on our fundraising page.
