onsidering aspects associated with future activities. the trustees remain
aware and have regard to the pnncipaEs of'Publrc Benefrt. as defined in

The trustees consider the activities and achievements of the CIO satisfy
the public benefft requirements.
Throughout the year the Club promoted the Lions 'Message in a Bottle"
and 'Message in a WaI￿r schemes in the local area which is viewed 88
a useful tool a5SiSting paramedics Wh￿ they are called out on an
emergency to assist the sick and ekl8rly.
In conjunth'on with other Lions clubs in the area, th8 CIO ran th8 annual
Fun Day, local groups caring for disabled adults took part in a day
of games in July 2024.
The dub's Wann Over Winter projed continued during the year, with the
aim of providing assistance to those in fuel poverty. Funding for the
projecl came from a number of organisations induding Reigate and
Banstead DC. loGal church organisations and others, including the CIO
itself. Small donats'ons were provided to Hortey families and individuals
referred by Citszen's Advice. Reyate and Banstead District Council and
local communty organisations. The Vrt)W project is managed through a
separate bank account and annual accounts.

A number of adivrties run by the Club have the dual beneficial impact of
oviding entertainment for the public yet at tt)e same b.me being run with
the specifi¢ intention of ratsing funds to meet the Trust$ charitable aims
and obJ"ective8. During the year, these activities included."
The annual skittles toumament. was held in earty Jun8 2025, to avord
dashing wilh major sporting events. The event was a great Success with
more than 70 teams taking part.
During September 2024 the club ran ts annual dog show with more than
100 k)cal dogs being entered into a range of das$es and competitions.
The dub also successfully organised its annual bonfire and fireworks
display, with 5,INXI peopl8 in attendarKe.
In December 2024, members of the club escorted Father Christmas
around the streets of Horley. Members of the dub also completed street
collections. Proceeds were donated to local youth organisatrons arKI siGk
children.
In April 2025. the club organised a series of Easter Egg draws in local
pubs. These raffles were a great success. All eggs were suc￿ssfUllY
raffled. leading to a signfficant financial gain for the club.

All funds raised are held on deposit account with a major bank as it is the
policy of the Club to quickly distribute funds raised to good causes arKI
charities wh￿re the money can be spent to maximum advantage.

In addition. to wovide funding to replace scvne of the dub's key assets, a
reserve fund 18 maintained. to set asKle funding for replacement of the

Achievements and performance
Through the activilies detailed ab)ve. thè Club created a n8t income of
£58,580 for the CIO wlh donations made exceeding £51,309. such
money being gFven to local tharitable organisations and in Some
instances needy cases Klentrf￿l through conta&8 With Social Serrfices.
In addition. grants were received by the CIO, totalling £15,500, to fund
the replacemerrt of cxitical equipment used by the club in its communty
events, which were fully disbursed during the year.

Summary
The donations ranged in amount. The largest donation provided was
£5,850 to the Surrey arKI Sussex Heahhcare Charity. During the year, a
total of £500 was ¢Jonated to various international emergency appeals. A
total 01 £5,(M)O was donated to I Choose Freedom and £5,000 wag
donated to Young Eylepsy. Donations of more than £1.000 each were
made to lfield Fayre Commrtlee. Lucy Rayner FourKlalion and St
*herine's HOS￿¢e.
In the run up to Christmas more than 120 food parcels were distributed to
local needy families. The total donation for these was around £3,309.
A se￿$ of donations were made towards various charitable activitres lo
Sup[￿ needy students, led by local schools, totalling £2.750.
Through the WOW project, rnLYe than 135 families were assisted with the
costs of domestiG fuel ts'lls. with a lotal of £18,720 being donated.
