Mondays proved more popular than Thursdays. so we w¢r¢ a¢tively recruiting to fill the ThuThlay vacancies. It did give the opportunity for more of th¢ Monday attendees to add a second day at thc Club, which h¢lped to fill the space& but it did mean that when a member could no longer attend the Day Centre two member4days were losL so replacement became all the more essential. The programme for m¢mbers continued much the same with much valued volunteers providing craft activities and pianist led singing. Unfortunately Janet and Pal our crnfty ladie4 announca they would bc retiring from the role, and Emrn4 the pianis¢ also had to say farewell to coming regularly as she had taken up a school teaching post. We are extremely grnteful to all these three for all the time and thought they pul into Ihe preparntion and delivcry of thc activitie5 they led. Tasty hot lunches are #ill provided by Mon Choisy. the Auditcare residential home in Kenningto the only problem being that their invoicing system seems to be rather dilatory, making monthly accounts not always rcpres¢nt the fvll pictur¢ of the Club's finances.
tn April the staff received their annual pay rise. This ttme their 1centrgc increases recognised that the Oxford Living Wage is sotThcwhat higher than the National Living Wag4 which is what had been applied before. It was agreed to step up half way from the National to the Oxford Living Wage level& with the promise to r¢vi¢w wh¢ther th¢ Club can afford lo go up to the fvll Oxford Living Wage in April 2026. The ftts for memlxrs to go up to cover the higher staff wages, and this will be an annual process to keep income tracking the expenditure each year. Stsff During this year Kay was the Club Organiser and ran very enjoyable session5. She was vcry ably assisted by the Care Assistants. These were Kathryn and Julie until Christmas 2024 when Kathryn Icft us to tsk¢ up fvll tim¢ ¢mploymeot with th¢ oth¢r Day C¢ntr¢ wh¢r¢ sh¢ ld b¢¢D working part- time up till then. Our graieful thanks go to her for h¢r years of dcdicatcd s¢rvic¢. With Kathryn's departure another member of staff needed to be appointed. Susan does aD ex¢ell¢nt job of rilling the rota slot% $0 the staff are always well Supwrted during th¢ $STon$. TNstees and Management Commtttee This year the membership of the Trustees and Management Committe¢ remained largely stable, the changes being the retirement from iM)th of Molly Dewey and Janet Pottle joining the Management Comrnitw. We thank Molly v¢ry much for the ntrIbUtionS she has made to the Club, includin& particularly.. voluntcer sessions and tsking minutes at Committ¢e rneetTngs. There were also very pmfitable tin shake and awareness raising events at Waitrose and Sainsburys supermarkety but the emplwis has begun to shift to rnising funds by applying for grdnts with an increasingly aging band of volunteers less able to man events like the sales.
