Val Allotment Association has, at the time of writing, 10 members who pay an annual rent for their allotment plot. As a CIO we have a board of Trustees and a management committee. Three committee members take on the officer roles of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. There is an annual general meeting to which all members are invited and at which one third of the Trustees stand down by rotation and new Trustees are elected or re-appointed. The roles of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are re -elected every year.

Over the period since setting up as a CIO we have provided affordable, well-run allotments for those who live in the geographical area of Marsden, as laid out in our charitable objectives.

The allotments have been successfully run in the interests of social welfare, for recreational leisure time occupation and with the objective of improving life for the residents, without

Achievements over the year 2021

Financial review

The expenditure of the Association is kept to a minimum - the payment of an insurance premium, rent to the landlord and membership of National Allotment Society are the only regular outgoings. The rent from plot holders covers our expenditure with some surplus. This is used for emergencies or necessities – e.g the hiring of skips, purchase or repair of communal tools.

As of December31st 2021, we have a balance of £539.42
