Ysgol Feithrin Glan Conwy is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and a member of Early Years Wales previously known as Wales Pre-school Providers Association. The setting is governed by a constitution.

## **Objectives /Aims**

- Provide high quality care that enhances the development, care and education of preschool children in a safe and stimulating environment, where they learn through a variety of rewarding and carefully planned experiences, planned in accordance with the Foundation Phase in partnership with parents/carers

- Welcome parents/carers who want to become directly involved in the activities of the provision and provide opportunities to do so, taking into consideration the linguistic and cultural nature of the local school and the surrounding area.

- Encourage parents/carers to understand and provide for the needs of their children.

- Embrace the ethos and principles of Early Years Wales.

At the end of July 2021 we had 21 children on our books, 7 of which entered full time education in September 2021. 6 returned after attending nursery in the morning and 2 left to go to another school. The 6 remaining children are of preschool age as of July 2021. We also had 6 children starting in September 2021, 2 of nursery age and 4 per school age. Of the pre school age children attending the setting 4 will be funded by 3 year old funding. Our new building funded by a Capita Grant has finally been scheduled to begin in January 2022

the building will be situated in the garden alongside our current building and will be purpose built for our needs.

Over the year the staff have attended many training courses, including Speech and Language and improving our environment. The setting has completed all the work needed to achieve our Healthy Pre School setting award; this has taken over 2 years to complete but has been very beneficial to the setting and the children’s understanding of a healthier lifestyle. As a setting we have also attended training relating to new curriculum that will be introduced over the next 18 months.

Over the year we have tried to provide an active schedule of learning for the children whilst still having many Covid 19 restrictions in place and having to close on a couple of occasions due to welsh government advise. We have been able to go out for walks in our community but visits by us and people visiting us have been put on hold. Santa did however manage to visit the children via zoom which the children loved.

A parent questionnaire was sent out to parents in July 2021, all of these scoring us 5 in every category of service. All comment was positive, with one asking for more information relating to their child’s day at the setting. This is something to improve in September.
