Ysgol Feithrin Glan Conwy is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and a member of Early Years Wales previously known as Wales Pre-school Providers Association. The setting is governed by a constitution. 

## **Objectives /Aims** 

- Provide high quality care that enhances the development, care and education of preschool children in a safe and stimulating environment, where they learn through a variety of rewarding and carefully planned experiences, planned in accordance with the Foundation Phase  in partnership with parents/carers 

- Welcome parents/carers who want to become directly involved in the activities of the provision and provide opportunities to do so, taking into consideration the linguistic and cultural nature of the local school and the surrounding area. 

- Encourage parents/carers to understand and provide for the needs of their children. 

- Embrace the ethos and principles of Early Years Wales. 

The setting was closed from 23rd March 2020 due to Covid 19. At time of closing we had 22 children on our books, 15 of which will be going into full time education in September 2020 and 6 returning and one left to join another school. Out of the 6 that will return 5 attend nursery at the school in the mornings and one is preschool age. We also have 12 new starters in September, 2 of nursery age and 10 per school age. Out of the 11 pre school age children 2 will receive 3 year old funding and 4 of the nursery children will receive 30 hour Childcare Offer. 



As yet our new build has not started due to Covid restrictions but hopefully we will have a commencement day in September. We did however receive a grant of just over £8000 towards new furniture / resources in preparation for our new build. 

Staff were furloughed from March but previously attended many training courses relating to the development of the children and their well being, as well as courses to improve their own personal development. 

As a setting we have covered many themes again with the children including autumn, winter, Fireworks, Pancake Day, Chinese New year and many more.  The children again attended the Lenten Lunch at the local Church House and decorated a Christmas tree for the Churches Christmas Festival. They also enjoyed putting on a concert for their parents in the school hall. 

Due to Covid restriction communication with parents became hard when we had to close so parent questionnaires were not sent out, but this will be addressed in September when hopefully we can re open.
