C Objectives and activities

The objects of the charity set out in its governing document are: “For the relief of poverty with particular emphasis on homelessness anywhere in the world”.

Love Link UK (LLUK) has carried out activities in supporting and helping the homeless in the UK get housing and promote disability awareness. In carrying out these activities the charity trustees have had regard to the charity commission’s public benefit guides to meet with the ‘public benefit requirement’. In doing this, decisions are made to identify and mange risks of harm to the charity’s beneficiaries or to the public in general. We have only succeeded in opening a bank account for LLUK in 2020 to raise funds for the public benefit. LLUK had no bank account and no receipts and payments for 2018- of the main activities 2019. n for the public elation to these We have worked with other UK charities (SALCET & San Vicente and clude within this Candray Foundation in El Salvador) by supporting them and have made statutory donations. that trustees have to the guidance

Section D Achievements and erformance p

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

LLUK has successfully improved the quality of life of the vulnerable and homeless in the UK by supporting them directly and indirectly and advocating for them to get the help they need. Such help ranges from accommodation to other essentials for everyday living.

We have helped with the relief of poverty, disability awareness and support for homelessness (suitable and appropriate housing) and followed up specific cases to ensure that necessary positive changes required were achieved.

We continued to support a family in Guildford, where a mother, Hannah was struggling with the loss of her new born baby D, that she continued to keep up with her home and having her necessities. Financial support was provided for the baby’s funeral arrangements by finalising the funding to Dignity Funerals.

Outside the UK

Love Link UK supported SALCET with their work with San Vicente and Candray Foundation in El Salvador; where our donation covered all the surgical medical expenses for a lady in El Salvador (Mrs. Maria Lidia Valladares de López) to have her sight restored after a successful cataract operation. Before our intervention her vision had significantly deteriorated but she can now see clearly following the successful surgery.

We have supported Ms Victoria Taiwo with her work and charitable activities in Ghana.
