TAR 3 March 2012

Love Link UK (LLUK) has carried out activities in supporting and helping the homeless in the UK get housing and promote disability awareness. In carrying out these activities the charity trustees have had regard to the charity commission’s public benefit guides to meet with the ‘public benefit requirement’. In doing this decisions are made to identify and mange risks of harm to the charity’s beneficiaries or to the public in general. We have only succeeded in opening a bank account for LLUK in 2020 to raise funds for the public benefit.. We have worked with other uk charities (Shelter, Opportunity through Education) by supporting them and have made donations.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

LLUK has successfully improved the quality of life of the vulnerable and homeless in the UK by supporting them directly and advocating for them to get housing. Examples are Mr ‘R’s daughter Miss ‘T’, a homeless drug addict that was successfully transitioned to rehab after they had been referred to LLUK as Mr R needed support and help. We have helped with disability awareness and the relief of poverty and homelessness (suitable and appropriate housing) and followed up specific cases to ensure that necessary positive changes required were achieved. We have supported and advocated for the homeless, for example in the Godalming and Woking area, communicating with Waverly Borough Council and Woking Council. We have communicated with the people living on the street in Guildford and Godalming to ask them if they needed help in being transitioned to housing.
