Report of the Trustees
The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st December 2022. The trustees who served during the year and up to the date of this report are set out on page 1. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015).
Objectives and Activites
-
1) To advance the religion of Islam, by means of, but not exclusively, promoting the teachings and tenets of Islam via the provision of Islamic education classes in accordance with the teachings of the Quran.

2) To act as a resource for young people living in Burton Upon Trent by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:
(a) Advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals
(b) Advancing education
(c) Providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons
Achievement and performance
Following on from the successes of the first year, the charity was adversely affected by Covid-19 and subsequently ceased all operations and services during the peak of the pandemic.
Financial Review
There has been zero income and only one expense during the period 01 January 2022 to 31 December 2022. Since Covid-19 operations and the administration have completed ceased. The only transaction in the financial year was for £33.12 to Microsoft.

Structure, Governance and Management
BiLD is registered on Companies House as a Charitable incorporated organisation (CE015031) and registered with the UK Charities Commission as a charity on 03 September 2018 (1179775).
The trustees named on page 1 are permanent members of the general public who have invested their time, finances and efforts in establishing BILD – Burton Icademy for Learning and Development in order to fulfil its aims and objectives and have served throughout the year.
Due to the permanent nature of their roles, no elections will be held to replace the Trustees. If a Trustee requires replacing, then that is a matter to be decided independently by the Trustees alone. The nature, reason and requirement for replacement (including the replacement process) would primarily be the concern and responsibility of the Trustees.
Organisational structure
The trustees may from time to time make such rules and regulations in their absolute discretion think fit for the management of the institution and may at any time vary such rules and regulations.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of BILD - Burton Icademy for Learning and Development
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of BILD - Burton Icademy for Learning and Development for the year ended 31st December 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

- 1) Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared under the historic cost convention and in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and follow the recommendations in the Statement of Recommended Practice- Accounting and Reporting by Charities 2005.
Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activates when the charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.
Resources expanded
Expenditure is recognised on an accrual basis as a liability is incurred.
Taxation
The Charity is generally exempt from Income Tax and Corporation Tax but not from VAT. Irrecoverable VAT is included in the cost of those items to which it relates as the Charity is not VAT registered.
