## **OPERATIONS**

- Our AGM appointed a new board of seven trustees, bringing in a range of different skills and experiences. Developed a new funding application form and membership application form, and started to directly recruit members

- Successfully managed the community beach chalet, redecorated it and introduced a new online booking system. The chalet has been pretty much booked solid from April to the end of October, giving dozens of local residents and families the chance to spend time there and make use of it. Booking for 2025 is now open

- Begun to explore with our East Saltdean & Telscombe councillors how we can improve accessibility to the Tye.

- Agreed placement of trees in Robert Kingham and Chatsworth Parks, making use of Co-op grant.

- Began work to lobby for better safety on our undercliff walk

- Supported and attended a Day in the Park to promote the charity and directly recruit members.

## Beneficiaries

The Trustees have encouraged as wide a range of community activities as possible across all ages and sectors of the community. For example;-

- Donated piano to local care home

- Sponsored “Saltdean Swims”, a free evening of swimming at our local Lido for local children

- Funded the local food bank, benefitting local families in food poverty

- Provided funding and supported an information bus in the local park for young people during the summer holidays

- Replaced web cam to enable residents to view sea conditions 24/7

- Sought and achieved public funding for CCTV to be installed in local park to deter anti-social behaviour which had increased.

## Membership

Saltdean Resident’s Association (SRA) is an affiliated organisation and as such all members of the SRA are automatically affiliated members of the SCA with full voting rights.

As well as engaging the Residents Association’s affiliated members we have started to increase our own direct membership base.

APPROVAL

This report was approved by the trustees on 24th March 2025 and signed on their behalf
