I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2022.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE CHARITY TRUSTEES NO 1179749

The Trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31[st] December 2022.

ORGANISATION

The overall management of the Association is the responsibility of the Charity Trustees.

CONSTITUTION and PUBLIC BENEFIT

The Association is governed by its constitution dated 5[th] April 2017 and is a registered charity. No. 1179749.

In shaping the objectives and planning the activities for the year, the Trustees have due regard to public benefit. The Trustees consider that the report set out in the following paragraphs relate the benefit that the Charity provides to the public.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY AS SET OUT IN THE CONSTITUTION

with any local statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the Association and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects.

REVIEW OF OPERATING ACTIVITIES.

The Trustees at the start of January 2022 were

At the 2021 Annual General Meeting on the 10[th] August 2022

David Wilson was elected as a Trustee

Membership

Saltdean Resident’s Association (SRA) is an affiliated organisation and as such all members of the SRA are automatically affiliated members of the SCA with full voting rights. Membership is open to all adults over 18 years old.

Saltdean Community Space

The Saltdean Community Association vacated the Saltdean Lido Building Community Centre at the end of November 2021.The final clearance was completed with the piano and other items considered as important being placed in storage.

Towards the end of 2021 Brighton and Hove City Council offered the SCA a Beach Chalet on Saltdean Undercliff which the Trustees happily accepted.

This has allowed SCA to have a social meeting space whilst the work on the Lido Building is being carried out.

The Licence is for 5 years from the end of 2021

The expectations are that the Charity will return to Saltdean Lido Community Building when the rebuild is complete expected late 2023.

The Beach Chalet was given a facelift and was opened for reservation to Saltdean Residents. It has been a welcomed addition to Community space.

We look forward to the opening of Saltdean Lido Community Building.

Beneficiaries

The Trustees have encouraged as wide a range of community activities as possible across all ages and sectors of the community. The problems and uncertainty around the aftermath of the pandemic with lock downs and continuance of the Covid virus within the Community.

The Trustees have supported other Charities and Not for Profit Groups :Saltdean Lido Community Interest Company and Saltdean and Rottingdean Youth Club are beneficiaries of grants and have been supported by the Charity.

Saltdean Swim and Surf a newly formed registered charity membership 8yrs old to 16+, To promote sea safety and lifesaving water-based activities.

A donation of £1400 paid for 14 exclusive use sessions in Saltdean Lido.

Saltdean Resident’s Association a donation of £1000 to support

outdoor Community events such as Queen Elizabeth 11 , Platinum Jubilee in Saltdean Oval Park

Chatsworth Public Park ,Telscombe . planting and report to promote bio-diversity and wellbeing of local people.

East Saltdean Wildflower verges and benches continuing maintenance and investment in an easily accessible walk of Homeridge House , over 60’s flats

Saltdean Gardening Club. Grant to allow local people to meet and have speakers.

The Trustees concentrated on helping families and children within Saltdean because of the continuing pandemic effects. A day at the Seaside was located at Saltdean Lido exclusive use with free food and drink.
