The purposes of the club are; 

Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. 

To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. 

To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. 

To promote a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public  interest, provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by the club members. 

To encourage service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours. 

Fishguard & Goodwick Lions Club continue to follow their motto of “We Serve” despite, like many local organisations, a drastic drop in numbers. Under the Presidency of Paul Mason, the Club has successfully supported many good causes, including an appeal for the conflict in Ukraine, the devastating flooding in Parkistan. Nearer to home, Guide Dogs for the Blind was very well supported by the dog lovers in the Club, together with a donation from a local individual. Money was raised for Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice and a donation was also made to the UK Lions Clubs campaign to raise £4,000,000 over the next 4 years for Brain Tumour Research. 

In total, income for this reporting period was £3,165 and costs £2,934 

Plans for the coming year include more events and the continuation of spectacle recycling. 

This would not be possible without the generous support of the people of Fishguard & Goodwick, for which we are very grateful.
