The trustees of East Grinstead
and District Lion Club CIO are fully aware
when considering
recommendations
for charitable
grants

must be in accordance

ofthe club have with one or two exceptions
returned
back to normal operations. The senior citizens party and Swim
night
are the major events
still cancelled because ofCovid, All the major
fundraising
events went ahead this year and were very successful
with| ||||||most event earning
more than they did before Covid. The book sales at| ||||||the local stations and the book shop continued
and the amounts
raised| ||||||have come back to the normal
levels experienced
before Covid. One of| ||||||the benefits over the year due to marshalling
the covid vaccinations
is| ||||||that the membership
has increased due to interest from Covid volunteers.| ||||||The club has sufficient funds to continue

attempts to provide as many
grants as possible throughout
the year, with the aim ofkeeping a
minimum
ofreserves. The level ofthese reserves would
normally

ring fenced for various activities,
with 66000 reserved
for| ||||||Health awareness
activities (although
this was cancelled)
with further
ring
fencing off5000 for provision
ofholidays for families

the year in order that
it| ||||||may meet its commitments,
where the main commitment
is to pay its
dues to the Lions organisation.
This is ensured

membership| ||||||dues set at a level to be able to meet this commitment.| ||||||The 200 Club is maintained
at a level to meet its commitments
which is| ||||||mainly to provide prizes 4 times a year. The level ofprizes are| ||||||determined
by the number ofmembers
in the 200 club and only surplus| ||||||funds are used to make grants.| ||||||There is no overdraft
