mmffted to serve. Covid-19 Paridemic has
meant It has still FN)I been possible lo continue
with fflany of our ￿mMUnty projects and
fundraising aclivilies. however these are some of
the aciivitieslseNir£s that our club and our
members have undertaken during the year:

attended and provided fundraising
actrvilieslgames adults and childr8n to
participate in.
Annual Food Tasting- Members provide a panel
of judges in retum for a monetary donation.
Advancement of Citizenship
We believe that strong and inclusive community
groups are vital and we have forged strong links
with Ihe local oJuncil. community and youth
groups.

Promoting Volunteering. All our members are
volunleers in that we make donations to Lions
Clubs Intemational to cover our administration
costs. We believe every penny we raise should
count towards fuffilling our objectives. Promoting
vdunteering is essential to our wellbeing and to
achieve the maximum public benefit. We
en￿Urage our ￿MmUnty groups to volunteer
wilh us so that we can achieve more.
Relief of Povertyrfhose in Neod.
We donated mobility sco)ters to eldety people
in need.
We tffovided fiifed shoe boxes to a local
community knlchen and also donated presents
for teenagers via a local youth charity providing
Xmas gifts to Ihose would not otheThvise
have received anything on Xmas day.
Our members supported the British Legion by
selling Pop￿eS and other merchandise at local
superrnarkets.
Our volunts8rs re9ularfy give their time to
support local food banks and community kitch8n
to help provide ftxKI to Ihose in nèed
A grant was made to a Icul schwl mini bus
app&al to help disabkd stthts take part in
activities within the district
Th• advancement of health or tho savlng of
IIv05. We raised funds for the Pnnce of Wales
HOs￿Ce and we supplied Message in the Bottbes
free of charge to the elderfy and people with
health conditi'ons so their health needs V￿uld be
available lo emergerw services rf Ihey
collapsed at home.
We provide emergency toilet packs to the
hospital for patients that are brought into hospital
wiihout waming.
We prowded Trauma Teddies to the local Fire
Station lo give to young thildren who are victims
of fire
We recycle spectacles. hearirvJ aids and ring
pulls to send abroad for underprivileg&
Promoting the conservation protection and
improvemenl of the physical and natural
environment. We are an active member of
Pontefracl in Bloom and sponsor a number of
the Town Centre Flower Troughs planting them
té4ice a year and maintaining them throughout
ihe year.

Our activtties highligh￿j above against our
consb"tuts"on have made a substantial difference
to the lives of many people less fortunate and
improved the health and well-being and vitalrty of
our villages. The selfless service provided by our
members has stimulated volunteers to help wFth
our aCtiv￿leS and take more acb've roles in
improving souety as a whole.
Our main achievements were:
Sanla's Grotto's- Volunteers ran their
popular Grotto and saw around 400 children
at a lo(21 shopping cenlre and Town Hall
raising funds for local charities
Booze Baskets raffle was held in a k&11 pub
raising fnoney for Prince of Wale5 Hospice.
Message In A Bottle - whilst we may not
have been able to distnbule thp same
quantity of these life saving bottles we have
still provided them to any(ne who has asked
for one including a doctors surgery in the
area. These botmes are helping to Save lives
of the elderly or individuals with health
conditions

healthy recreation.
We usually partiupate in the District N Disabled
Sports Day, vthich attracts people with
Disabilities to take part in various sporting
aclivilies and competitions. Unfortunalely this
event had lo be cancelled due to Covid 19
restrictions.
Members support other local Lions Clubs by
providing marshals at their annual bike ride.

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts In accordance with the requirements of the Chari(ies Act 2011

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts ¢arried oul
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charty Commission
