## **THE NATURIST FOUNDATION CIO ANNUAL REPORT**

## **12 Month period YEAR ENDED 31[ST] MARCH 2024**

The Naturist Foundation aims to provide naturist recreational facilities and maintain ancient woodlands for the public benefit.

There have been no changes this year to the Trustees of the charity.

Additional staff were recruited, namely, a part-time groundsman. Another part time groundsman also resigned during this period.

The main source of income for the charity continued to be from camping fees paid by associate members for the use of licensed camping pitches, and from visitors’ camping areas within the grounds, and associate members fees.

Monies made from various events staged throughout the year also contributed to the charity’s income and towards the charity’s aims.

To maintain the interest of the current associate members and continue to attract visitors and new associate members from the general public, the Social and Games Committee again organised a timetable of events to take place. An increase in marketing activity for events, and the benefits of naturism through multiple media channels, has contributed to both higher attendance levels at events and new associate membership applications.

Infrastructure improvements during this period included: New prefabricated toilet facilities installed in the seasonal camper’s area, refurbishment of the three miniten courts and the installation of 200 meters of new perimeter fencing.

The grounds and infrastructure continued to be maintained by employed ground staff, the paid services of outside contractors where necessary and a small group of volunteers. A number of volunteers attended as “the Tuesday Group” and provided their services and knowledge free of charge to assist in the general maintenance and ongoing improvements to the grounds.

The Naturist Foundation endeavors to promote recreation, wellness and wellbeing and maintains its grounds and infrastructure for that purpose. Fulfilling that aim is at the heart of everything undertaken this year.

Deferred income
Deferred incorne represents amounts received for fvtttre periods and is ieleased to incorning resources in the
period for which, it has been received. Such income is only def¢rr¢d when..
- The donorspecifies that the grant or donation must only be used in firture accounting periods. or
- The donorhas imposed conditions which must be met before the Charity ha5 uThconditional entitlement.
Gifv in kind
Gifts in kind are re¢o8nised in diffcrent ways dependent on how they art used by the Charity..
(i) Those donoted for resalc produce ill¢ome when they are sold. They are valued F4t the amount actually
realised.
{ii) Those donated for onward tran5rniSSiOTJ to b¢n¢ficiaries are included in the Statenlent of Financial Activiti¢s
as illcoming resources and resource5 expended when they are distributed. They are valu¢d at the amount the
Chatity would have had to pay to a4uire them.
liiil Those donated for use by the Charity itself are included wh¢n [￿elVable. They are valued at the amouni the

ExpeDdlture
All cxpcndittire is recognised once there is a legal or c¢)nstructive obl1￿10n to that expenditure, it is probable
settlement is required and the amount can be measured Feliably. All ¢osts are allocated to ihe applicable
txpendirure heading that aggregate silnilar costs to that category. Where ¢osts cannot b¢ directly attributed to
particular headings they have been allocated on a basis consistent with th¢ use of resources, with central stsff
costs allo¢&ted on thc basi8 of time spent. and depreciation charges allocated on th¢ portion of the &sset's use.
Other support Costs are allocated based on the spread of staff ¢osts.
CharifoblÉ tsrtivities
Charitable rxpcnditurc cornpri5es those costs incurred by the Charity in the delivery of its activities and setvices
for its bencfi¢itries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such a¢iiviti¢s and those costs of an

Governance Costs
These iD¢lude tbe costs attributable to the Charity's compliance wtth ¢¢)nsti￿tional and statutory requirements,
in¢luding audit, strategi¢ management and trustees meetings and reitnbursed expenses.
T#x8tion

Pensions and olber post retirement obligations
The Charity operates a der￿ed benefit pension schcrne.Typically defined benefit plans dcfine an amount of
pension benefit that an employce will receive on retirement. Usually dependent on one or more factors such as
age, years of service and conwen5ation.
The liability recognised in the Balan¢e Sheet in respect of de6ncd benefit pension plans is the present value of
the def]ned benefit obligation at the reportlO8 date minus the fair value of plan a&sets. The defjned benefit
obligation is measured using th¢ projected unit credit method. The present value of the defined benefit
obligation is determined by discounting the estimated fi￿￿¢ payments by reference to tnarket yields at the
reporting date on high-quality ¢orporate bonds that are denominated in the currency in whi¢h the benefits will be
paid, and that have tenns to Ma￿rity approxirnating to the tern￿ of the related pension liability.
Actuarial gain5 and losses are charged or credited to other ¢ompTehensive income itt the period in which they
arise.

liability is measured at the present Valu¢ of the fvture payments di8COUnted at a maTket ratr of inierest for a
similar debt insttum¢nt.
Financial assets and liabilitie5 are ODly offset in the statement of financial position when, and only when there
exists a legally ¢nforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and the Charity intends either to settle on a
net basis. or to ffalise the asset and settle the liability simultaneously.
FinaticiAI assets are dereco8nised whet) and only when a) the ¢outraetual rights to the cash flows from the
