During the year ending 31st March 2021 Morpeth Bridge Club continued to play bridge online due to the risk of COVID infections. These sessions were well attended not only by club members but also by other individuals from the area. 

We have been told that the ability to play bridge online during the difficult time of lockdown has been a real lifesaver for people who felt isolated and lonely. 

We continued to play regularly on a Monday evening and every month ran a very successful teams event.  Players also took part in a local 3 division bridge league which was played over a period of 6-8 weeks with participants moving up and down the 3 divisions. The Club also played online in the North Eastern Bridge league teams competition against other clubs in the north east. 

In addition we were very pleased to accept invitations to play friendly matches against several bridge clubs throughout the UK. 

Bridge teaching classes continued online covering absolute beginners to those with some knowledge of the game.   We look forward to welcoming to the Club those from the classes who would like to progress further.
