This year the Club has been involved in a number of fundraising activities. From March onwards it has held a breakfast bar at a local Car Boot Sale, serving bacon sausages and burgers, plus drinks for visitors to the car boot. It has also been a good way of raising our profile within the community. It has also held an Easter cake stall, with free eggs for Children on Easter Sunday. In April & May, with the support of Forestry England, we were able to facilitate people with or without their cars to visit a local Bluebell Wood, most of which is not normally open to the public. A request for donations is made at the gate. A stand at a local show in June with a Tombola was another fundraising activity. In November we supported the Marlborough Community by providing Father Christmas and his sleigh and drove the Mayor through the centre of Marlborough at the annual Christmas light switch-on We also supported the local cinema in December at their Christmas Fair. Father Christmas and his sleigh was also driven around the town, with a static float in Marlborough High Street and supermarkets in the area, bringing joy to families and raising funds throughout December. |
