Executive Summary
Marlborough & District Lions club focuses on supporting deserving local people and organisations within the Marlborough district with help that they may need. The club is part of Lions
International, a world-wide organisation which provides vision, support, networking and funding.
Marlborough Lions work to ensure that the bulk of the money we raise goes directly to people and organisations that need it in the local area.
Along with other charities, 2020-2021 has proved to be a particularly difficult year for our club as a continuing result of the Covid 19 pandemic. Fundraising has been almost completely curtailed and outgoing donations have been high, which means that our funds have been significantly depleted

Spectacle recycling
Since its formation nearly 100 years ago Lions Club International has focused on sight related projects. Marlborough Lions Club have placed a recycling box in the local recycling centre. The spectacles are collected regularly and sent to a central collection point for sending them on to developing countries.
Message in a bottle
The purpose of the Message in a Bottle service is to provide a plastic bottle to be placed in the fridge of the elderly and infirm which contains contact information and medication details This information can be accessed by the emergency services.
Marlborough Lions deliver bottles to Doctors’ surgeries, dentists, care homes, the local hospital and other suitable locations in the area.
Other projects
We are here to help with smaller projects too. Household equipment, carpets and flooring for an autistic child, a stair gate for a disadvantaged family, an adapted shower for someone with disabilities, learning toys for a child, have all been provided this year.
