The Curriculum Plan includes:

HEALTHY EATING

The Playclub encourages healthy eating and drinking at snack times and lunchtime.

LANGUAGE

The Playclub is an English medium establishment. However, children’s home language will be given due consideration by staff familiarising themselves with greetings and key words in other languages.

The children are provided with opportunities to use and experience the Welsh language, traditions and cultural celebrations. Welsh stories and songs are shared daily.

CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT

The academic year 2021-2022 has proved to be the most successful year since the Playclub became a Charitable Incorporate Organisation in 2018. This success has been due, in the main, to the Manager and her staff team implementing a full day session effective from January 2021 in addition to the existing morning and afternoon sessions. The Trustees are delighted that the offer of a full day session has proved to be extremely popular and the feedback from parents has been excellent.

The team has carried out its duties in a conscientious manner with full support of the Trustees. The staff are committed to ensuring that the children gain experience in all aspects of learning within a happy, friendly and safe environment. The playgroup has continued to offer a fun and exciting settling to learn through play and interaction with other children. Increased usage of the outdoor areas has proved to be very popular giving the children more opportunity to spend time outside with one another.

As Chair of the Trustees, it gives me great pleasure seeing the Playclub grow from strength-to-strength. The Playclub has very strong links with the School, which is invaluable in terms of supporting easy transition into the Nursery class.

During the year, the children have experienced a variety of activities with free time to explore and play with toys both inside and outside. It is anticipated that the children will be able to enjoy a variety of events during this academic year, including topics such as Christmas, Easter, World Book Day, Chinese New Year, Healthy Eating Week, and many more.

My thanks and congratulations to the staff team who have worked so hard to ensure that the Playclub thrives in a safe environment. Also, may I thank all the parents and guardians for choosing Blessed William Davies Playclub.
