The year saw quiie an expansion in the ilctivities of the Charity wilh Jddiiions in tru8tee5, staff and recruilmenl of more volunteers with continuing expansion within ihe le￿itOry covered per the charity'% Constitution. The users (friends) Ihat are supported with the events and activities increased Substantially during the year with favourable feedback from surveys iaken. A high spot of the year is the charity's nominalion for the Kings Award for Volunlary Service with a successful and very comprehensive a55e55ment having taken place in January 2024. Other features of ihe charity's exposure during the year were the partnerships establlshed with Housing and Well-being entilie5, continued co-operation with classic car clubs, participation in awareness events with NHS, social service b(Klies, superniarke15 and the like, as inforniation siands at shows, talks wilh interest groups and fundraising events.

ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 {conlinued) The monthly calendar of activities and trips for Friends increased to nineieen. suTpa55ing the previous high with a further three more planned into 2024 plus ongoing ad h(K theatre trips. The charity. as a community based charity representative. attends regular dementia relaled board meetings with three local NHS Trusts and co-operates with similar minded locally based organi5ations. During the year the charity had 116 new people with de￿￿nti4 carers and ex-carers. The charity received £3,(KK) in r¢s￿l¢led funding from CRH Charitable Tn15t lo help cover the volunleer's expenses. During the year the chariiy Uiilised these funds in theiT enlirety to support their volunleers. In house administration progressed with the introduciion of CRM. ￿ Donorfy, new accouT]Is package, as Xero, duly supported by familiarisation sessions. A well-attended Volunieer Workshop was held io process the earlier iniroduced Business Plan with exciling inpui io enable the charity lo maintain its impetus and improve its reach. The Chrislmas lunch again proved very su¢ces%ful for Friend5 with pre-dining live seasonal music provided by a l(Kal grammar school student group. The trustees have resolved to keep reserve funds in the range of three io six months of operating costs based on the cu￿ent year's expenditure. In planning our activities for this year and future years we keep in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The Charity continues to constitute a public benefit entily. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity trustees of the Trust. you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('Ihe Act"). report tn respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried oul under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination, I have followed the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. I have compleied my examinaiion. I confirni that no malerial matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which give me cause to believe that in any material respeci-. accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act. or th¢ accounts do noi accord with the accoulliing records.
