We are a CIO with a board of 4 trustees at present.

As per the constitution section 10, the rules of recruitment are as follows;

•Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of 3 years or indefinitely by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

•In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

Objectives

Our objectives are as follows as per the constitution;

•To provide a greater opportunity for the less privileged in society.

Through enhanced training, development and education programs leading to employment.

Working with youths, providing information and advice about help and support available from ourselves and other organisations .

Running community events, organising day trips activities and excursions for service users, thereby building a closer community.

Achievements

A quiet year for activities due to lack of funding.

The young people were collected by minibus provided by Phoenix Outdoor centre. They took part in Kayaking/ Paddle boarding and Sailing.

They of course, thoroughly enjoyed themselves and 3 of them went on to take part in furthering their Sailing experience.

This was an amazing achievement the young people had never experienced before.

The Phoenix Outdoor centre are amazing!

Seeing the young people free and full of joy never gets old.

Some of them were apprehensive having never participated in any water activities before but, by the end of the session, they didn’t want to leave!

Stating it was the best thing they have ever done in their lives!

We want the young people to experience as many different experiences as possible to hopefully, broaden their mindset and aim for more.

WE shall continue our efforts in Introducing new possibilities.

•We attended 10 Pin Acton bowling Alley twice during the summer holiday with 10-12 children.

•We paid for the running of the charity such as insurance, website, dbs checks, flyers and posters etc

Vision

We are continuing with the fight to obtain a small premises in order to engage further with the community without added costs.

To run drop-in sessions for young people and provide a safe space to interact as many young people have no access to outside spaces unless it’s the local park.

It is essential especially during the colder months, the young people have an outlet available to them and the parents trust the Charity to provide such possibilities for the mental health of the young people and the parents.

This also gives us more time to hear from the young people direct in order for us to run activities they themselves are asking for.

We will continue to run as many activities/ daytrips as possible especially during half term holidays in order to sustain the young people who have very limited opportunities of engaging in activities.

At present we have no outstanding debts, we have £200 in the account and no reserves.

We continue to run via volunteers as to spend all monies on the purpose of our young people.

As more funds are received, we intend to hopefully employ some of the volunteers from the community who are already working to support the charity and the community.

This way it is another way to strengthen out community in another way.
