The Charity is still waiting for the local authority to determine what it wishes support with re the local recreation ground and pavilion. As such we are still not yet operational. Following a lengthy and unsuccessful tendering exercise we have been promised several times that the Council’s decision on the local pavilion and the relationship with WSF is imminent. The Council in 2022 then decided to develop a long term master plan for the Harbourside parks and engaged consultants. This study was completed in in 2023 after a wide consultation including with WSF, but has not yet been formally accepted.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

The Charity has still not yet started its activities.

A business plan has been drafted

We have investigated funding avenues, and have cooperated with the authority in developing ideas for a special activity programme for the over 50’s.

Until the matter of the pavilion, park and pitches is resolved we are in a waiting position with regard to the activities of the Charity.

Our advice and support to the Council has been welcomed and does pursue our charitable objectives.

There has been a change in political control at the Council which may change matters.
