from COVID-19 virus.
Enhanced budgeting and cashltow forecasllng have been introd￿ed to ensure ongoing good financial govemance.

ReseNes policy
The Trustees have examlned the Chari￿S requlrem8nl for reserves in light of the main risks to the 0rgani8at￿n.
The Trustees understsnd that reserves are needed to bridge the gap behveen spending and receiving income. as
well as lo cover unplanned expendrture. In general. the major outgoings in respect of tho Summei and Wnler
Games comprise Trustees, travel expenses and Games-relaled costs, which are largety fjjnded through participant
caiitation fees and host fees. This also ensures thal an adequate working balance of funds exists lo cover the day-
to-day support costs of the org8nlsation- the largest of which are staffing. ttavel. and subsistence costs.
In assessing our reseryes. we measure them against a rolling cash llow forecast that projects income and
expenditure over the n8xt Ihree-year cyde.
At the year end the Federation had free reserves - deflned as those unrestricted reserves not tied up in 8ssels of
$68,300 (2023- $140,700).
Th8 Trustees believe that this awroach demonstrales that the Charity holds adequate reserves to continue lull
operntions and remain in a sound finanaal position. Furthermove. should any concems arise regartjing future
financial stsbility. It is worth notlng that many of oui operational expenses relate to contractual workers. This model
offers llexibility. as the scope of these services can be scaled up. reduced, or even suspended in line with the
financial posiiion and cash flow of the World Transplant Games Federation (wfGFI. This flexibility allows us to
adjust expenditure appropriately should the need arlse. The Trustees therefore believe this reserves poI￿Y is
appropriate antl ensures prudent and effedve financial management.
Cash reserves at thè period end amounted to $140.033. The Federation holds restricted fvnds of $90.817 relating to
the Fil for Lrfel prograrnme funded by sponsorship from Novartis in 202012021. Youth program funds raised by the
LOC in 2021 for the SK Anyway. Wellness Projects fijnded by the The National Lottery Community Fund. and The
Big Gfve. These are ongolng programs of Initlatives under these bannèrs and fvndin9 is stricdy monitored.
Pnitthp81 funding sourcès
The prlncipal source of funds emanates from the host and capilalion fees d)arged lo the host city of the Summer
Transplant Games.
In 2025 thi$ be held in Dresden, Gemiany.
The third tranche of host fees 1£36.000) for the Summer 2025 were received during 2024 from LOC in
Dresden. Germany.
We reeeived an annual grant from the Intemational Olympic Committee (IOC}- $27,000 in 2024.
Sponsorship from IT&Kqed $31,703
A £5,￿0 donati￿ was 18ceived from the Sir Edward LevAs Foundalion.
£20.000 Grant from The Natlonal Lottery Fund in the UK in Dec 2024.
THE BIG GIVE Chrislmas Campaign in Dec 2024- a matched givir¥J initiative- raised £10.232 (not inc. GiftAid).
Investmentpolicy
The Trustees agreed lo place some cash reseTves on instant access deposit to maxmise passive income in the
current hKJher interest rate economy. This ha8 provided a valuable additional source of income.

Majorrisks
The principal rtsks would be the inability lo e￿OUrage cities lo bid for Ihe Games. Thls has L*en mltlgated through
the review of the bidding prO￿sS of the Games. This has pjso been mitigated by the app¢intmenl of Summer
Games Host at a lime. the 2025 and 2027 Hosts were appointed al the same lime.
The contracted host organisation for each Summer and Winter Games collects a copilalion fee from every
registered part￿1pant on behall of the Federation. We have experienced delays in these funds being handed over to
the Federation in the past. The risk of potential loss of lunds is now mitigated through dear terms in the conlract.
Going fonvar(J, we are examining the practical implicabons of the Federation collecting the capilalion fees directly
from partiapanls.
Structure. governance and management
The trust is a company limited by guarantee and is govemed by its memorandum and arlides of association.
The liability of the members, who are also the Trustees of the Charity is h'miled. Members agree b contribute a sum
not ex￿edIng £10 in the event of a winding up.
The Federation is made up of Member Countries (one represenlatlve org8nlsalion per county) from around the
world who all work for the promotion of organ and tissue donation and the advancement of health wthin transplant
populations. This body is known as the General Assembly which meets annually lo guide the Federalion. Tha Board
of Truslees is entrusted to lead the Federation. An Execubve manages the Federation on a day-lo-day basis.
Memos of Understsnding th the Intemational Olympic Committee IIOC), European Transplant & Dialysis sports
Federati¢￿ (ETDSF) and th8 European He8rt & Lung Transplant Federation {EHLTF).
Trustees can be nominated for election by the CEO or Chaimian of memker organisalions leach member country is
repregented by one member organisation). Elections are held at a meeting of the country members which is usualty
held every hvo years at the summer Vlbrld Transplant Games but can be held online if necessary. Trustees hold
their positions for four years after whith time they will have to seek approval from the Board of Trustees to pul
themselves forward for nomination again. If thal is approved, they neod to seek nomination from their Member
organisab.on again. The members of the Executive Board are appointed by a vole of the Trustees at the first BoaTd
mee￿n9 immediately fdlMng the Trustee elections. They serve a four-year term from their election to an executive
post.
The Federation continues to evolve its govemance model and requirements. New bylaws were previousty
introduced lo bring the election of Trustees in line with best practi￿ and a conflicts of Interest register for Trustees
was also implemented.
The fedeTation holds training sesstons for trustees on Ihoir roles and obligalions.
In addition the federation has membership bylaws lo ensure that member organisations work towards best practice
