The object of the CIO is to promote education in Britain and Pakistan by raising public understanding about pressing social and intellectual challenges in Pakistan by: Public Lectures and panel discussions; Publishing Book reviews and reports on academic research; Dissemination of academic research through the social and mainstream media; Teacher Training Programmes in UK and Pakistan

Structure, Governance and Management

Officers (Trustees) and Executive Committee

The managing body of the Charity is the Executive Committee, which consists of nine Officers (Trustees) The assets of the charity, including any money standing to the credit of the Society in any bank account and the right to deal with the same, vest in the Trustees. The Officers and the Executive Committee are unpaid and work on a voluntary basis.

Book Launch

Book Launch: Pakistan Origins, Identity and Future

Panelists: Prof Pervez Hoodbhoy (Author), Dr Maria Rashid (Chair), Dr Salman Khan (Discussant). This book is an accessible, comprehensive, and nuanced history of Pakistan. It reflects upon state and society in Pakistan and shows they have been shaped by historical forces and personae. Drawing on a range of sources and written by one of the foremost intellectuals of the region, this book will be indispensable for scholars, researchers, students of history, politics, and South Asian studies. The book launch was organised collaboration with SOAS Pakistan Discussion Forum on 12 October 2023 at SOAS University of London. More details and video of the book launch.
