The meetings were not held quarterly because of the COViD-19. 3 ## **Review of the year 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021** Bloomsbury Pakistan has continued to work in accordance with its goals and aims during the year despite reduced activity due to COViD restrictions. Its activities during the year fall into the following categories: i) Annual Book Prize ii) Book Reviews iii) Events – Book Launches iv) Annual Lecture ## **i) Annual Book Prize** As part of our work to facilitate academic research on the country, Bloomsbury Pakistan has for several years been publishing reviews of academic books in the field of Pakistan studies. These are widely read by academics and others with an interest in Pakistan and South Asia. We have published reviews of books by leading academic publishers, such as Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, Chicago, Princeton, Cornell and California University Presses. Our reviewers are drawn from Pakistan, the UK, Europe and the US, and are all established academic specialists in the area. As the next step on our path, we have established an annual book prize for the best academic work related to Pakistan published in the preceding year. The value of the prize is £1000, in addition to the prestige that the winner will gain from an award from a well-established academic organisation. We are currently raising a fund to support the prize. At the beginning, the fund will have a hybrid structure. Annual financial contributions for the book prize will be sought alongside funding for the long-term endowment. She is also a chairperson of the WAAK movement, a believer of non-violent political action, and a writer and researcher focused on women’s empowerment and gender equality. _Dr Sanaa Alimia_ is an academic at AKU-ISMC. Her research focuses on Afghan migration, surveillance, and geopolitics. _Dr Mahvish Ahmad_ is an Assistant Professor in Human Rights and Politics at the London School of Economics. She studies global military and police violence and the movements that resist them, especially in Pakistan. Introduction: _Mr Ziauddin Yousafzai_ is from Swat.
