Headway has been Tnade with the 2021-22 prioriti¢s.-
major priority was Ihe chajlcngc of continuing the trustees, charitable activities under the
conditions of Covid regulations. Zoom was used for FK)anl mettings but aIso foT a considcrablc
number of informal me￿ing5 to progress busiDe5s. In relation to the administration of the awards
programme, a main obs1acle was the slow and sometiTnes lack of restK)nse from esLqblisliments
providing educational s¢rYic¢4 both ETrainstr￿ and charities. The impact of Covid m¢ant that mauy
stsff were workÈng from home ￿ had left the Org￿lSatIOn8 voluntarily or through redundancy.
Skeleton staff duty rotas made email communication slow and often losL and telephone lines were
frequenily closed, with messages clearly not answera. Since most of the preparatory work for o
awards is persuading su¢h organisations to nominate suitable candidatcs, this made it very dI￿lcult
and arduou8. A5 8 resulL the numb¢r of nowninations was low'¢r than in p￿-Pand¢[ni¢ ycars but
similar to 2019-2020. However, we were gratificd to notc that thc quality of nominations ivas
unaffected and remained very high. The i)nl)' a￿ard that faild to be dclivetyd was our Prison
ucator of the Year award. because education ser4ices prisons were discontinued during the
pandemic.
-The fjrst year of the professional development grdnt fund was successfully launched. Unlike other
awards oroJnised by the TrusL this is not focused on any particular academic subJ￿t or professional
discipline, and it do¢s not require nomination from any educatiolla] organisalion. It is open to
applicati0115 from individual educatlODal prdCtitioncr% full- or part-timc employccs or frcclancc: from
any sector of education and training.
The only coDdition i5 that applicants must d¢monsts3tr how the grdnts of up to £750 will bc uscd to
pursue development opportunities that will suptK)rt aEkd enrich ihcir creativiry, educational skills and
knowledge in their professional field. Three applications were approved unconditionally. They

included applications for a ¢ai¢ring course. innovative choreogrdphic work with dance students and
work with tliose Y*ith disabilities.
-This y.ear s Master ha5 ￿ntInUed th¢ effort to remind members of thc Worshipful Company of
Educators {:Xhe Companv") of the expeetstion of donations to suppon the philanthropic work carried
out by" the Trust. lThere has been a further increase in donations from members and an improved

FINANCIAL REv￿w
Fin8nci21 Review
The Trust continues to appeal for donations separdtelTr from the notification for quartcrdge. Members
of the Compan￿. are reminded in thc recruitinent process of the expectation of chariiablc &ctivitiLS of
livery cotnpanies. Thc itnpact of awards and bursarkes on previous winners is highligh￿d. The total
donated to th¢ Trust by" members of the Companj. during 2021-2022 was £10,643. The number of
m¢mbers paying by monthly standing ordcr during the year increased from nine to nineteen, with a
number of tnembcr5 making a on¢-off donation. This swll docs not include Gift Aid.
InvL¥tmeDt and Reserves Policy
The Trust's polic), for investmenl is to maximise the total ￿tUrn. 'lThe trustees ARTn to build and then
a&ntain reserves of £1 million to presetve the continuily of th¢ Trust for the foreseeable future.
The cutrent policy. level of inv¢stm¢nl and risk appetite is considered to be appropriate by the trustees
to ¢nabl¢ th¢ Trust to build its reserves and continu¢ with its grant funding ptY)gramme.
This policy was review¢d and agreed by the trnstees during the year.
Future PI&DS
A new aiN'ard tn Environmentsl Edu&*ion fimded by a Liveryman of the Cornpany" has been 8pproved
in prin¢ipl¢ by the trustees. Orgalli&ition5 in ihe fi¢ld will b¢ inwited io nomina* outstanding

precise dclails of ¢rit¢ri< adjudication and administration have yet to be resolved. Given the
