INCOME AND EXPENDITURE (ADMIN ACCOUNTI

I report on the accounts which are set out on pages 2 to 4.

## **Respective responsibilities of the management committee**

The management committee is responsible for the preparation of the accounts.

## **Basis of independent examiner's report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair view" and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

- (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

To keep accounting records; and

To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records, or

- (2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

The club’s activities and charitable objects are shown on the charity’s framework page.

## The Charity’s Income – How we collect the money

We raised awareness of our charitable causes at our fundraising events as follows:

- Donations collected through members, the network of members’ contacts, customers and project campaigns in the UK.

- Fairlop Lions members contributed in support to Ukraine, a children’s orphanage in Malawi and help with cancer treatment in India.

- A charity golfing event and evening presentation added to our eye camp appeal.

- Funds were also raised for our annual eye camp at a Vaisakhi fund raising event.

## Our Charitable Work – Where we spend the money

The club this year spent the funds raised on worthy causes – all amounts donated are shown in the accounts that follow this report.

- World Cancer care - £12,500 (raised for a vision project in collaboration with Heston Lions Club) was paid towards the purchase of a bus to provide mobile eye screening. Match funded monies have now been given to World Cancer Care on completion of the project.

- The annual Eye camp this year for cataract surgeries was funded (£9086).

- The club also generously supported the disaster relief efforts by Lions Club International.

## Our accounts

Our charity accounts are regularly presented and scrutinised at our monthly Club meetings. The accounts for the year ending 30 June 2024 as approved by members follow this report.

Signed on behalf of the charity’s trustees.
