_19th September 1998 and is governed by a Trust Deed. DMGT_
_converted to a CIO in 2019 to enable the purchase of additional_
_land._| |---|---| ||| ||_Consists of trustees who manage the Millennium Green and_
_volunteers who help maintain the Millennium Green_| ||| ||_With the exception of the Nominated Trustee and the Official_
_Custodian, all other Trustees are appointed on a specific_
_renewable term. New trustees can be appointed in any of the_
_trustees meetings._| ||_Three Trustees represent a quorum. It is the usual practice for the_
_Trust to ask people to show an interest in becoming a Trustee at_
_all our public meetings._
_The Trust has no paid employees; further, no Trustee receives any_

**objectives and activities**|_The primary objective of the Trust is to hold and utilise the trust_
_fund for the provision and maintenance of Derrington Millennium_
_Green for the benefit of the inhabitants Derrington and_
_surrounding areas._| |---|---| ||| ||_The property is used for informal recreation, a meeting area or_
_place for community events. In order for the Millennium Green to_
_be available throughout the year, regular maintenance takes_
_place to ensure that the environment is not only safe but also_
_enjoyable. A significant part of the green's management is to_
_encourage wildlife by either carefully husbanding the_
_environment (e.g. Pond Filling from a bore hole) or leaving some_
_areas in a more natural state. The Green (and adjacent 23 acre_
_Woodland Trust wood) is particularly popular with walkers and_
_Dog walkers. Amenities have been provided for disabled access_
_which is another one of our key objectives._| ||| ||_A great contribution is made by the volunteers and 'friends' of_
_the Millennium Green who donate time and money to enable_
_the upkeep and development of the Millennium Green to take_
_place. We are constantly grateful for the support. Without this_
_valuable contribution of time, money and energy we would not_
_have been able to achieve so much. Any surplus funds which are_
_not likely to be needed for upkeep or events are placed on_
_deposit as a contingency._| ## **Section D - Achievements and Performance** |**Summary of the main**
**achievements of the charity**
**during the year**|_After Covid-19 there has been an attempt to return to normality._
_Monthly workdays have been reinstated and now there are also_
_regular weekly work days which, are well attended. Apart from_
_the usual maintenance activities there has been a lot of activity_
_on seat and tree sponsorship which has helped take the trust into_
_surplus for the year._
_The trust has also worked hard to consolidate the new fields._
_Gates, both vehicular and disabled access, have been installed_
_to allow the fields to be closed off when either grazing or hay_
_cutting._
_Main achievements for the year were:_
_* Secure boundaries, on the new fields by erecting fences,_
_hedges and gates_
_* Plant trees and bushes in line with the overall site plan_
_* Install drainage in the field adjacent to the stream, to allow use_
_all year round (when not flooded)_
_* Install Bee hives in the reserve field_
_The trustees have been largely successful in the above with the_
_fields having their first harvest of hay._| |---|---| ## **Section E - Financial Review** |**Financial Review Details**
**Statement of the charity's**
**policy on reserves**|_At the end of the 2021 calendar year the Trust held a balance of_
**_£16,220_**_. This year's closing balance is a an_**_increase_**_of_**_£1,343_**
_from 2020. This increase is primarily due to increased sponsorship_
_activities. Our main source of income is normally from small_
_regular donations from villagers, usually through standing orders._
_Other income has sources have been through sponsorship of_
_trees and seats, miscellaneous donations and from rent (wave_
_leave) payments from Severn Trent Water. The majority of DMGT's_
_costs are for maintenance activities and insurance._| |---|---| ||| ||_It is not the general policy to have a large reserve of money._
_Should there be a large surplus of funds, such as a_
_bequeathment, the trustee would look to either purchase_
_additional land or make improvement to the existing._| ## **Section F - Future Activities** |**Future Plans**|_The main focus for 2022 will be consolidating the new fields with_
_fencing and tree planting. Development of the land with scrapes_
_and potentially ponds will be investigated. The land will be_
_registered as agricultural rather than recreational to take_
