**Objects:** THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION ANDIMPROVEMENT OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE GOODWIN SANDS BY:(1) EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE GOODWIN SANDS(2) ENSURING THE CONTINUED PROVISION BY THE GOODWIN SANDS AS A NATURAL SEA DEFENCE FOR THE EAST KENTFORESHORE AND THE CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE SAFE AND ANCIENT ANCHORAGE KNOWN AS THE DOWNS(3) RAISING AWARENESS OF THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE GOODWIN SANDS

**Activities:** The Trust intends to raise public awareness of the cultural, environmental and historical significance of the Goodwin Sands by creating displays in local maritime museums, providing an information board on the Deal and Walmer seafront, holding pop-up displays at community events and giving presentations and workshops to schools and interested groups.
