In addition Mrs Angle Meadley and Mr Robin Siddle are happy to Cntinue fulfill'ng their roles as Church Life Stewards. This prorosal was carried unanimousty. ELECTION OF CHURCH REPRESENTATIVES TO THE CHURCH COU Currently Churth Member Representatives to the Church Council are: Deacon Sue Langdale. Mrs Elaine Calver, Mr Jim Maslen, Mrs Ann Bonill, Mrs Margaret Bettley, Mrs Pat Dyson, Mr Phil Plurnb. Mr Steve Calver. Mr Jim Maslen expressed his wish to step do*Tt from this role. Rev Debbie Lucas thanked Jim for his many years of service on the Church CCJncI1, and she also thanked him for his continuing work with rr preparation for worship every Sunday.

Rev Debbie Lucas then asked Mr PIMI Langdale rf he wished to add to his Tr•asureVs report. Phil said that allhough our reserves mlght be looking healthy, we are using up these reseNes at the rate of £10,000 a year. He went on to thwk everyone for their gNing and asked if we nwghl review our giving with the possibility of makw)g an increase. Phil cornm8nt8d that ihrough deaths over the past two OT three years we have lost some 'good givers. with the result that our weeklylmonthty income has Wl8 down. Mrs Angle Meadley thanked Phil for all his work as Churth Tr6asurer. Wlth regard to the Bu51ne5s Commlttee report, Phil went on to talk about a recent visit to our premises by Methodist Insurance. A suggestion from the insurance representstlve had been to create a photographic inventory of the premises and sis contents. Steve Calver has followed this up and done all the work to create a photo album (to be kept in the safel, and also has a digital copy on a memory stick as well a5 a copy his own comwter. On behalf of the Church, Phll thanked Steve for all the wck that has gone into the creation of the Inventory. Mr Steve Calver expanded upon the Wami Welcome Teport. He said that currendy a CAB (Cillzens Advice Bureau) advis(x o)mes into Wam) Welcome on a weekly basis. This may change Sn the future but as it stands it is provlng helpful f(Y Ihose are unable to travel into town. Use of our premises by outside agencies hes wilh our funding. With reference to property malntenance. Mr5 Wendy Winfield said that Mr Ray and Mr5 Juli8 Lloyd had asked rf anyone has an unwanted eledriG lavmmower that they could donate to the Church. Mr Steve Calver commented on v•that a great asset to the Church Mr Ray Lloyd is with his willingness to tackle all sorts of maintenance and 'fith"ngffixing' jobs. Rev Debbie Lucas thanked Mr Mike Winfield for his work in reinststing Meel and Eat ov8r the last year. She said that getting people together outside ol Ihe Church pr8mises is a good thing, particularly as the range of those who attend widens. Mrs Angle Meadley expressed her thanks again to all help wilh Messy Church. Without the helpers, the seSonS cx)uld not be held. Wendy thanked Angle for all the hard work that she puts into Messy Church. A possible Service of Blosslng Warni Welcom• had been Tnontioned at the 2024 Annual Church Meeting. Rev Debbie asked Deacon Sue Langdale if this was something still to be c¢)nsKJered. Deacon Sue said she would think about this. Rev Debbie commented that the lovely garden fumiiure purchased via Warm Welcome had proved its worth. Worship Leader news- Rev Debbie explained thac %Mth a heaY heart. Mrs Pat Dyson had deuded that she needed to step down from being a Worship Leader. Debbie thanked pat for all her y88rs of seNice as a wshIp Leader. Debbie informed the Meeting that she had had a Confimiation and Membership request from Mr Brendon Arnold. Debble sakl that Brendon Is really keen to become a member but he has stressed that, due to ¥Tk and family commitments, he is not able to attend Worship every week. Mr Mike Winfield said that he had had several conversatiCS with Brend£ in vthith he came across as very loyal and committed. Night shifts inemtably controlled that Brendon can do during the day. and, weekends when he is not at work, he needs time to spend with his family. Several other people who have also spent time talking with Brendon agreed with vthat Mike was saying. Angle sald that she has been tying to support the famlly wkth Messy Church resources. Debbie said that Brendon wants to be able to seNe and help in the Church. Deacon Sue asked rf we could make sure that Brendon received a copy of the Churth reports and Rev Debbie said that she would provide Brendon with a membership booklet. Rev Debble checked wth the Meeting that Remembrance Sunday arrangements that have existed over the past few years should be continued In the future, thal is no morning service at Sutton Methodist Churdi and a combined sep4ice with the congregation of St James and people of the local community. Mr Dennis Robson wanted to record how impressed he was with the visit lo Wami Welcome of the Green Doct. Oennis had received a home vlslt from Green Doctor and was very grate1 for the service he received from thern. Dennis said Ihat Wann Welcome does some gocmj signposting. Rev Debbie said that Rev Arthur Harbottle, is helping us problems Viith our electricity meters. had spoken to her al Synod. He is committed to sorknng Out the problems In our Hall premises. Rev D8bbi8 said that at Syntxl there had been discussion re deeper awar8n8ss and deeper conversation leading io spiritual wth with a spiritual safety net. Prayer cards had been mentioned at S0d. Wendy wondered whether these might be similar to some that she has seen in several Anglican churches - a set of cards meeting various needs. Perhaps we could obtain some and have them available in some of the areas used by the publc throuth¥)ut the week? Rev Debbie said that there are also Melhodist Prayer booklets. Deacon Sue said that she also has some 'Cross in my pocket's and perhaps these could also be made available.
Bransholme Methodist Churth - Rev Debbie gave the MeetiThJ an update. Debbie said that she had taken the question of 'WheYe is BMC going?. to the last Circuit Meeting. With regard to dosing or 'ceaSg to worship, relevant foms were filled and sent to the District. As a result, District decjded that they wanted to look further into the problerns and potentials befe anything else happens. Debbie had a meeting with Ruth Gill and explained Ihal. althwgh we don't want to pull out of a needy estste. we just haven't got the resources at SuttonAMthin the Circuit to manage the building. Ruth Gill has compiled a r8POrt in which it says that fc( any continuation of BMC there needs to be discussion r8 governance, grants, finances etc. Debbie has stressed that it is not just the work with the kThl corrvnunty but the huge task of looking after and maintaining the building. Phil said that allhough our reserves mlght be looking healthy, we are using up these reseNes at the rate of £10,000 a year. Phil cornm8nt8d that ihrough deaths over the past two OT three years we have lost some 'good givers. with the result that our weeklylmonthty income has Wl8 down. Mrs Angle Meadley thanked Phil for all his work as Churth Tr6asurer. Wlth regard to the Bu51ne5s Commlttee report, Phil went on to talk about a recent visit to our premises by Methodist Insurance. A suggestion from the insurance representstlve had been to create a photographic inventory of the premises and sis contents. Steve Calver has followed this up and done all the work to create a photo album (to be kept in the safel, and also has a digital copy on a memory stick as well a5 a copy his own comwter. On behalf of the Church, Phll thanked Steve for all the wck that has gone into the creation of the Inventory. Mr Steve Calver expanded upon the Wami Welcome Teport. He said that currendy a CAB (Cillzens Advice Bureau) advis(x o)mes into Wam) Welcome on a weekly basis. This may change Sn the future but as it stands it is provlng helpful f(Y Ihose are unable to travel into town. She said that getting people together outside ol Ihe Church pr8mises is a good thing, particularly as the range of those who attend widens. Deacon Sue said she would think about this. Rev Debbie commented that the lovely garden fumiiure purchased via Warm Welcome had proved its worth. Worship Leader news- Rev Debbie explained thac %Mth a heaY heart. Mrs Pat Dyson had deuded that she needed to step down from being a Worship Leader. Debbie thanked pat for all her y88rs of seNice as a wshIp Leader. Debbie informed the Meeting that she had had a Confimiation and Membership request from Mr Brendon Arnold. Debble sakl that Brendon Is really keen to become a member but he has stressed that, due to ¥Tk and family commitments, he is not able to attend Worship every week. Mr Mike Winfield said that he had had several conversatiCS with Brend£ in vthith he came across as very loyal and committed. Night shifts inemtably controlled that Brendon can do during the day. and, weekends when he is not at work, he needs time to spend with his family. Several other people who have also spent time talking with Brendon agreed with vthat Mike was saying. Angle sald that she has been tying to support the famlly wkth Messy Church resources. Debbie said that Brendon wants to be able to seNe and help in the Church. Deacon Sue asked rf we could make sure that Brendon received a copy of the Churth reports and Rev Debbie said that she would provide Brendon with a membership booklet. With regard to dosing or 'ceaSg to worship, relevant foms were filled and sent to the District. As a result, District decjded that they wanted to look further into the problerns and potentials befe anything else happens. Debbie had a meeting with Ruth Gill and explained Ihal. althwgh we don't want to pull out of a needy estste. we just haven't got the resources at SuttonAMthin the Circuit to manage the building. Ruth Gill has compiled a r8POrt in which it says that fc( any continuation of BMC there needs to be discussion r8 governance, grants, finances etc. Debbie has stressed that it is not just the work with the kThl corrvnunty but the huge task of looking after and maintaining the building.
