## **Section A: Reference and Administrative Details**
## **Charity Name and Address:**
Cromhall Chapel (A Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and Registered Charity No. 1179269) is situated at Townwell, Cromhall, South Gloucestershire, GL12 8AQ.
## **Registered Number:**
Cromhall Chapel became a CIO under Registration Charity Number 1179269 on 19[th] July 2018. All assets and liabilities were transferred to the CIO from the former Cromhall Chapel on 30[th] September 2019. This report is for January 2025 to December 2025
## **Trustees:**
The Church Officers who are the Pastor and Elders, are also Trustees of the Church. The following have served as Trustees this year.

## **Section B: Structure, Governance and Management**
## **Governing Documentation:**
The Governing Documentation consists of:
- The Constitution adopted by the Membership of Cromhall Chapel, dated 13[th] June 2018 and approved by The Charity Commission on 19[th] July 2018; and
- The Handbook containing the Rules & Regulations of the Church and adopted by the Members, dated 13[th] June 2018.
We adhere to the Statement of Faith as set out by the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).
Only those Members whose spiritual life meets the Scriptural standards are eligible to be appointed an Officer.
The Pastor is appointed at a Special Church Business meeting especially called for this purpose and is by ballot. The appointment is reviewed by the Membership every four years.
The Elders are normally appointed at the Annual General Meeting and will normally serve for a period of four years, after which time they must either retire or be reappointed.
The Trustees must hold at least four Trustee meetings in a twelve-month period, but in reality, meetings are generally held every month.
## **Section C: Objectives and Activities**
## **Summary of Objectives and Main Activities**
Cromhall Chapel is affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and adheres to its Basis of Faith.
The purposes of the Church are the advancement of the Christian faith primarily but not exclusively within Cromhall; also such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the Members of the Church in general meeting, put into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith, including but not limited to: the prevention and relief of need, hardship and sickness, the advancement of education; and the provision of community facilities.
The Church Officers and Members are aware of the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit in The Advancement of Religion for the Public Benefit and have regard to it in their administration of the Church. They believe that, by fulfilling its responsibility to work together with the Pastor and cooperate in all matters of concern and importance for the promotion of the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelistic and social, it provides a benefit to the public by:
- Providing resources and facilities for public worship, pastoral care and spiritual, moral and intellectual development, both for its members and for anyone who wishes to benefit from what the church offers.
- Promoting Christian values, and service by members of the church, to the benefit of individuals and society as a whole.

## **Review of activities and achievements**
## **Activities**
The church aims to introduce people to the love of God shown through Jesus Christ, to encourage those who already know God's love to keep trusting in that, and to demonstrate God's love in practical acts of kindness. To these ends we hold regular Sunday worship services and run midweek Bible studies and outreach events, all these events are open to all. We also support charitable organisations which seek to advance the Christian faith and relieve need.
## **Achievements**
This Year has seen new members joining our congregation both in our Sunday morning and evening services. During the week we have home groups, prayer meetings, and Wednesday night Bible studies. Regularly through the year we also have had Saturday breakfasts and Discipleship courses. We have continued to use Zoom so those that are unable to be with us in person can also join in our times together.
As a chapel we seek to be a positive presence in the community. Some of the ways we have been seeking to achieve this is by purchasing and maintaining one of the
defibrillators in Cromhall. We have worked with St Andrews school; our pastor works with the governors of the school. We also host Cromhall Crafters. All of the events and services held at the chapel are open to all.
Members of the congregation are also helping within the community, these include running a parents and tots’ group in the next village, running weekly coffee mornings, offering a warm space to meet friends, prison visiting and regular donations to a local food bank. Other events during the year in which members have helped in the community, include helping to renovate a community pub, and taking part in the village clean up.
As a Chapel we continue to support Christian work around the world. We regularly support Bible translation work in, Brazil; the work of a “Counties Evangelist” helping crew members on the ships coming into Portbury and Avonmouth docks; and a couple training with UFM Worlwide for work in France. During the year we have also supported other charities such as Tearfund, Barnabas fund, The Julian Trust, GOOD NEWS for Everyone! and TEN.
## **Section E: Financial Review**
The financial report including the Receipts & Payments account and a summary of our cash assets is attached from which it can be seen that we have had a good stable financial year.
The Church Officers constantly review the level of funds and seek to ensure sufficient is carried forward to meet anticipated expenditure necessary to enable the church to continue its activities and to maintain the properties in good condition. We also hold reserves to meet unforeseen contingencies. Our policy is to keep at least 3 months unrestricted expenditure.
The Trustees have pleasure in presenting this report of the Church for the 12-month period to 31[st] December 2025.
The information set out above regarding the Trust forms part of our report and the attached accounts are those of the church which we have prepared and were approved and adopted on 31[st] March 2026.
We look forward in anticipation to 2026 and seek the Lord's guidance and blessing as the chapel at Cromhall, a Registered Charity (CIO), continues Christian worship, witness and community support in Cromhall and the surrounding area.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Cromhall Chapel**
I report to the trustees on my examina1on of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 December 2025, which consist of the Receipts and Payments Account for the Year and the Statement of Assets and Liabili1es at the End of the Year…
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the prepara1on of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Chari1es Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examina1on of the Trust’s accounts carried out under sec1on 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examina1on, I have followed all the applicable Direc1ons given by the Charity Commission under sec1on 145(5)(b) of the Act.
aTen1on in connec1on with the examina1on which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:
*accoun1ng records were not kept in accordance with sec1on 130 of the Act; or *the accounts do not accord with the accoun1ng records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other maTers in connec1on with the examina1on to which aTen1on should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
