Section A: Reference and Administrative Details Charity Name and Address: Cromhall Chapel IA Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and Registered Charty No. 1179269} is situated at Townwell. Cromhall, Soulh Gloucestershire, GL12 8AQ. Registered Number: Cromhall Chapel became a CIO under Registration Chaiity Number 1179269 on 19th July 2018. All assets and liabilities were transferred to the CIO from the former Cromhall Chapel on 30, September 2019. This report is for January 2021 to December 2021 Trust80$: The Church Officers who are the Pastor and Elders, are also Trustees of the Church. The following have served as Trustees this year. Simon Carey Damon Ujvarosy David Frampton Gordon James Timothy Scolding Section B: Structure, Governance and Management Governing Documentation: The Governing Documentation consists of: The Constitution adopted by the Membership of Cromhall Chapel, dated 13th June 2018 and approved by The Charity Commission on 191h July 2018., and = The Handbook contsining the Rules & Regulations ofthe Church and adopted by the Members, dated 13th June 2018. We adhere to the Statement of Faith as set out by the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches IFIEC). Only those Members whose spiritual life meets the Scriptural standards are eligib16 to be appointed an Officer. The Pastor is appointed at a Special Church Business meeting especially called for this purpose and is by ballot. The appointment is reviewed by the Membership every four years.
The Elders are normally appointed at the Annual General Meeting and will nomially see for a period of four years, afier which time they must either Tetire or be re- appointed. The Trustees must hold at least four Trustee meetings in a e1ve-Month perii)d, but in reality, meetings are generally held every rnonth. Section C: Objectives and Activities Summary of ObJè¢tlvos and Maln Activities Crornhall Chapel is affiliated to Ihe Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and adheres to its Basis of Faith. The purposes of the Church are the advancement of the Christian faith primarily bul not exclusively within Cromhall,. also such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the Members of the Church in general meeting. put into Practi the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Farf(h, including but not limited to.. the prevenlion and relief of need, hardship and sickness, the advancement of education,. and the provision of community facililies. The Church Officers and Members are aware of the Charity commission guidance on public benefit in The Advancement of Religion for the Public Benefit and have regard to it in their administration of the Church. They believe that. by fulfilling its responsibility to work together with Ihe Paslor and cooperate in all matters of concem and importance for the promotion of the whole mission of the church. pastoral, evangelistic and social, it provKles a benefit to the publi¢ by.. Providing reSoUrS and facilities for public worship, pastoral care and spiritual, moral and intellectual development, both for its members and for anyone who wishes to benefit from what Ihe church offers. Promoting Christian values, and service by Member5 of the church, to the benefit of individuals and society as a whole. Section D: Achievements and Performance Revlew of acllvltles and achlevements This year from January to June through covid restrictions, the church provided one Sunday morning seJv1, Bible studies and prayer meetings during the week all held via Zoom and we were delighted to welcome our friends frorn oversees and churches and friends round and about to all of these meetings. Elders Members and Friends kept in regular telephone contact with those who were unable to join by Zoom. The Elders were able to help to facilitate Members and friends in their involvement by other means including recording of sermons and phone-in for services. Sermons were available to listen to, via the chapel website, along with updated infomiation.
Unfortunately, all other activities and outreach were cancelled because of the covid pandemic. We were delighted to welcome our new Pastor Simon Carey and his wife Melanie into our fellowship in May this year and had a wonderful induction service on July 31st We were so happy to resume in-person services at the erKI of June 2021, starting with just the morning and then IM1 each Sunday later in the year. All of our services were available via Zoom. Our Sunday school class also re-started Later in the year we resumed weekly Bible studies at the chapel (also available via Zoom) and our bi-monthly ladies, and men's breakfasts. We were also able to resume some of our social events including,. Chapel walk and tea, haest supper at the chapel (with a visit from TEN), Tearfund Big Quiz night and a games nighL We were still able to have g¢)od links with the local primary school, and 0s1OnallY lake on-line assemblies. Through God's provision, prayer and financial support were still given to our Mission Partners bolh in the UK and the wider world. Section E. Financial Review The financial report including the ReIpts & Payments account and a summary of our cash assets is attached from which il can be seen that we have had a good Stable financial year. The Church offir$ constantly review the lev61 of ndS and seek to ensure sufficient is carried fOard to meet anticipated expenditure ne$sary to enable th8 church to continue rts activities and to maintain thé prortIeS in good condition. The Trustees have pleasure in presenting this report of the Church for the 12 month period to 3151 December 2021. The information set out above regarding the Trust forms part of our report and the attached accounts are those of the church which we have prepared and were approved and adoptsd on 22 Augusl 2022.
