Trustees’ Annual Report 2024/2025 ## Little Learners Pre-school Daycare Inc. ## Charity ref no 1179256 ## **The charity’s usual activities** Little Learners provides full day care for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Plus holiday cover for children aged 2 to 8 years. ## Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9.30am – 3.30pm ## **Public benefit statement** Our trustees and staff give serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit with the regards to enhancing and development of education of local preschool children. We aim to provide high quality, (low cost) childcare and education. We create a safe and caring environment where each child is nurtured and valued. We provide clear boundaries, with regards to acceptable behavior, we develop children’s moral understanding and praise good behavior. We build self-esteem together with mutual care and respect for others racial origins, religions and differences of gender and disabilities. We value our staff, we are supportive and understanding employers. ## **Achievements and progress during year 2024/2025** Our committee, managers and staff continue to work in close partnership to provide the highest level of care and education for children in attendance. We strive to maintain our OUTSTANIDNG rated by Ofsted. Steered by great management, the staff teach children through high quality interaction, in an enhanced learning environment where rich learning opportunities are tailored to children’s individual needs. We follow guidance from the new EYFS. We are very proud of our exceptional Pre-School. Numbers of children remained healthy throughout the year. ## **Highlights of Little Learners:** Special days/events were celebrated with enthusiasm across the nursery with vibrant displays and stimulating activities and dress up days. We welcomed the changes of the seasons and embraced the every changing weather (even the rain) with hands on experiences e.g. splashing in puddles, freezing and thawing ice, blowing bubbles in the wind and enjoying picnics outside when the sun shone! As always our Christmas production of “Whoops a daisy Angel” remains our firm favorite with both children and parents and as usual it was a great success. Children and staff dressed up for ‘World book day’ as their favorite story characters and brought their favorite book into nursery to share with their friends. We wore odd socks to celebrate national Downs’s day. Children made gifts on Mother’s Day and Father’s day for the special people in their lives. We had many outings to the local library, the park and the play gym. Our leaver’s party in July was another great success. We submitted transition reports to schools and supported children and families with their individual pathways to their new schools. Children left with their “Learning Journey” a fantastic keep sake. As always parents complimented us on our commitment to children’s wellbeing, our investment in their learning and overall support shown to families. We provided parents with termly planning, encouraged involvement in their children’s learning. We offered formal and informal progress discussions to parents throughout the year. Staff continued their own personal professional development with regards to training: focusing on Safeguarding, First aid and SEND. Most staff have now completed their Dingley’s promise and hopefully we will achieve our kite mark very soon. We reflected/changed/improved our policies and procedures at our committee meetings and up dated our risk assessments and practice accordingly at our AGM ## **Reserve Policy** Little Learners has a Reserves Policy. This defines the size of the reserve, how it will be held and the period over which the reserve amount will be built. ## **Risk review:** The trustees continue to assess the risks to which the charity is exposed.
