Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The toilets have had a major renovation during 2023. The toilets were closed for over three weeks, but signs directed people to alternative public conveniences in Powys. Work done included:
-
Removing interior brick walls to enable the installation of new cubicles using Solid Grade Laminate and with new hand-grab rails.
-
All walls covered with easy wipe-down Melamine Faced Chipboard.
-
Lighting activated by a motion sensor.
-
Under-Sink Hot Water heaters to all sinks with ‘press down/popup’ taps.
-
Installation of a trap door to the roof space and laying of insulating fibre.
These improvements have improved the general cleaning of the toilets and provide a much better service for the elderly and infirm. This refurbishment cost £17 521. Donations to the ‘honesty boxes’ has significantly increased.
During 2024 there are plans to replace the old wooden seating in the bus shelter which suffers from some wood-worm with seating made from recycled plastic.
