These tfuslees take on the ro￿ of chair. treasurer. luTrJr8iser and secretary. Charity memberscan either
bo voluntser responders or non4yrat*)nal as￿late memb8rs who parbtspate in fuThYr8i$in9 or
training ackn'vitres.
The organisational structure of the chanty indud8s tha ￿¢￿thnator of the group (whth at present is the
chair trustee) wth the group volunteers who fomi the operatsonal members of the group. The Keele
s¢heme is overseen by West M￿land$AmbUlance servi￿ TNst who promde policy and procedures for
our Communrty First R•sFrf)nders.

continues to have a ¢bse Telationship with Keele Universty who provKle facilitses lo enable the charity
lo operate on the unpnrsity cwnptts.

The relief of sicknes¥ and ￿ prv38fvation d life in Kee￿ and the surrounding area by providing
trained volunteers to attend medKal anergencies as directed ty West M￿landS Ambulance
Serviee.

The chanty mefflbers indLth th8 trustees and vduntw cc¥nmunty responders {CFRsl. CFRS a
trained by and operala under the govwnarKe of Vk8t klKlland8 *JrthLgnco IWMASI and
respond to 999 em￿nCY calls within the kcal thmmunty. This volunteer actsvity involves a period of
'on call" time whereby the CFRS are available to be dispatched to 999 emergency calls by WMAS. The
scheme owns and ub"1ises a scheme ambularte resrxsnse car to attend emergency calls and for charity
activit￿. On arriwal al emergenc￿, CFRS a(kninister fitsl and basic lrfe supwt. Tr aim of CFRS
attending local emergencies is to reduce the resp)n5e time of NIIMAS to lrfe threakning emergencEs
and to provth Itfesaving irrtOTrEntKJns and the￿bY improve the survNal of pth'ents. The chanty
also aims to improve fitst kn￿lAedge in the o)mmunty by assistr.ng in pmllding.basic lrfe support
awareness.
Volunteers are the heart of the ctsnty. They provide the coverage and response 10 999 calls. The
volunteers re¥thd to calls. maintsin training. train olher members, and raise funds at local events. The
volunteers also host community training coutses where they teach basic life supp)rt tethniques to
members of the communrty tlw seprfe.

The th¥ity 'recruited' 86¥en CFRS durin9 the Slmmw of 2022 to expand our acts.ve responder
tearn to el8¥en.
the 12 months of th￿ repjrt our resFonders provided 898 hourn of ￿Ver and responded to 179
emergency 999 calls.

The resutts for the year we set on page 6.
The principal SOL5r￿s of funds are from collections at events attended by the ¢hanty. Colle¢lion pots
are also placed in Irxal buwnesses Wh￿ a￿ ¢ollected regularly. Donat￿nS are periodically made lo
th¢ charty. Grants have been awarded in previous finanual years, usually with a 5r¢ryfiG purthasing
goal of a ngw ￿ece of eqUiFxnent.
Expenditure supwrts the running and operatK)nal ability of tha tha[￿￿. EquiF¥nent and Veh￿ fJeTvicing
and upkeep maintains the Operat￿nal *)Ilily of the charity.

The charity aims to keep a resfft of £1.1)CM) to ￿MIc1￿bIY cover maintenance and running of the
tharrty V8h￿e and essential eypendibjre. At 30 September 2022 the charity held reserves of £11,553
of wthich £9,999 was restricted and £1,554 unrestricted (2021.. £1.3981.
