The trustees present the annual rew1 tofftr with the finan(ial statements of the CIO for the year
ended 30 September 2021.
Governance and management
The charity is a CIO operated under the rules of its t£￿IllU1￿ ￿ 16 July 2018. registered
with the Charity C(xnmission, the e￿stIr0 unregistered ch81ity imediately transferred all a￿ts,
lia￿'11t￿ and assets to the CIO in July 2018.
Methods adopted for the recruitinent and appointsnont of new tfustees
Trustees are elected annually by the members of the charity.

The charily side of the group is managed by four trustees who are ele(aed from members of the group.
These trustees take on the rcAe ofchalr, treas4JreT. fiJThJTaiserand seuetary. Charty members can either
bé vdunt8ar r8sporKlers non-rwatw)nal associate members who partirapate in fuNlraising or
training adivrti8S.
The orYJanisational structure of the charity inthdes the c(KKdinaiord the wup (which 8t p￿sent is the
chair ttusteel with the group volunteers who fomi the operdtK)nal members of the group. The Keele
group is overseen by an area c￿dinal0r Wt￿ is then overseen by Wesl Midlands Ambulanc6 servlce
trust who provide policy and procedures for our Communty Fyst Respcmders.
The charity continues to benefrt frC￿ its relatlonships wf(hln Ils network. The ¢harilies wider structure
indudes a close p*tsiership West Midlands AJni￿lanCe Sefvice {WMAS). WMAS provide trained
volunteefs (Communty Fksl Resp￿ CFRS) to Keel8 Ccrfnmunty First Responders. The tharity
also utilises volunteers from Keel8 Universty and the l(Kal COMM￿lty to meet sts objectNes. The charity
¢ontinuos to hav6 a close relationship wth Keele Unwersity who provide facilit￿S to enable thg charity
to OP8rats on the universty campus.

The rel￿f of sickness and Ihe preservation crf lrfe in Keele and the surrounding area by provKJing
trained volunteers to atsnd n￿dI¢* ern￿en(￿eS as dÉrected by West Midlands Ambulance
Servic8.

Surrounding areas, in partnership wilh West M￿landS AmbularK> SON'(￿. The dBrity attends 999 cal
in a vehicle and provKks immediate assessmenl and lrfe suptx)rt treatment before Ihe NHS ambulance
arrives. The tharity also provides local teachThJ of bas￿ lrfe supwt, CPR and automated defibrillator
use to groups and rnemb8rs of the publi

The Trustees of the Charity are aware ofthe Chwity Coffmissh)n's guNJance on public benefft and have
regard to it in their administration ofthe Ch￿.
Summary of the maln achlèvemènts durfng the perfod
The charity has continued to operate and SUFWrt the NHS dwlng ts global covMI 19 pandemic. Our
CFRS have dedi(xted themsefves to restK)nding to 999 emergencies through ts various lockdowns
and additional measures indudiTrJ to co¥id-19 pwbve palwts. This is an extraordinary achwmnent
for the dBrity and tls ¥Dlunteers by itself.

are also placed in local businesses which are collected regulaTly. DC￿allonS are periodically mado to
the charity. Grants have bew awarded in previws Ilnancial yw. usualty with a s[￿fiC purchasing
goal of a new piece of equipment.

and upkeep maintains th8 operalb)nal ab￿ty of the char?ty.

The charity aims to keep a reserve of £1.0￿ to wmfcxtsbly ¢xwer Maintenan￿ and running of the
Charity vehid8 and essential expendilure. At 30 September 2021 the i*arity hekl reserves of £1,398
(2020.. £2.397).

Lack of abilty lo fundraise - This has boon ro¢•nty exrHienc8d by the tharity tSJe to the covid 19
lockdown. A Larye amount of Ihe fuTrJraising happens at scKial events and lockdowns have challenged
that. The (tharity maintains a protected bank balance to cover the groups expected expenses for one
year.

for risky behav￿Ul and in the past memtws have bean expelled from tho tharity duo to risky driving
behaviour and breachos of the NHS Trusl driviw policy.
